As a 0-0 I think there's a fair chance they would. Liverpool were last last week.

Weren't Liverpool show last, last week? Also, on occasions a "top" game stinks the length of highlights are often shortened even if they are not relegated to last place. The coverage of our games is indeed a bit **** though.

The only time we get top billing is when we get a shafting by one of the top sides......however, we're not last tonight.......we're second from last. Burnley v Huddersfield are last. Things are improving slowly.

Why does this surprise or irritate people? The plain fact of the matter is that we do not have the degree of nationwide support that most of the other PL clubs have. If I were a TV scheduler. I would do exactly the same except when our game yielded lots of goals, or a major upset. Of today's games, the only other one I could conceivably see ours appearing above is Everton v Bournemouth and (a) there are far more Everton fans around than Watford fans and (b) Everton's poor start has been a big story of the season so far.

Martin Keown is on so probably just say the goals were from mistakes.

They will have no idea who Richarlison is I suspect!

Yep, didn't even feature the other goals. Both Keown and that Murphy boasted that they would have taken Richarlison out rather than let him score, and it was a **** touch and a scooped goal.

The fact that neither would have gotten near him and deeney would have flattened them both is another matter entirely.

Hardly a surprise knowing Keown - made a career of little sly tackles/fouls.

Not many defenders do go crashing into forwards now as the rules are slightly different!

That made me laugh as well. He also called Richarlison's goal a sloppy finish.

Totally agree. Keown would not be able to live with the pace of the modern game. His analysis of most of the games tonight was poor. However the crown this week goes to Charlie Nicholas who was watching the match on SSN. He is as bad as Merson in mispronouncing player's names (I.e. Doucoure). But at least he knew his name. Clearly he had not done his homework on our squad and rarely mentioned them by name. When Richarlison scored both he and the usually reliable Jeff Stelling failed to mention the goalscorer or any of our players involved in the build up. It was all about the mistakes made by Swansea. If it was another team it would be about the press and pace involved. Anyway it is probably good we are still flying under the radar. Bring on the Baggies!

Jesus wept it's not a conspiracy....we aren't that fashionable and we don't have a large fan base. We also beat a similarly unfashionable club with a small fan base

Our second goal was littered with mistakes from the home side, a point that would be rightly discussed by the panel

There are only 20 teams in this league.

Only 16 of them played today.

Only 7 of those teams won.

Only 6 of them are at the top of the league.

Fashionable or not, our coverage is belittling.

I have personally got over it a long time ago and realised that the bbc give little to no fecks about anyone outside of the big 6 (we are in the top 6) however a little more than a passing mention would be nice.

I did only watch tonight as I was interested in a couple of the goals I heard about.

It's embarrassing how the bbc fawn and funble over manu etc when they manage to grab an fa cup game with their "super teams".

Anyway. Sky sports are at least a little more balanced.

The commentators often get the names wrong. Last week, before City's 2nd goal, it was apparently Holebas who was had the ball robbed from him at the right back position not Janmaat. I've heard that Janmaat didn't complain at this error.

Also remember this is our third season in the prem in a row, the longer you stay the less you get talked about unless you pull off a shock, get battered or relegated.

Yes it feels a little disrespectful at times, but think about our first season with QSF, we were praised for starting well and got a lot of media attention. Huddersfield, Brighton and Newcastle will get more attention than us being the new boys. As long as we keep doing what we do and picking up points I'll be happy.

The BBC have always been like this though, even back in the eighties when we were really upsetting the applecart. I remember Jimmy Hill calling us imposters as we continued to beat the elite.

This time it's mainly driven by the pundits and I do think Lineker has a big say in how it all flows. It's not so much about the coverage, which is generally poor, or the running order, as I know we'll be last or second from last unless one of the big boys take our trousers down, but it's the dismissive nature and the lack of credit the club receives that I find baffling.

I would have had Watford above the Everton match last night and why was the United game so high?

Richalison scores a good 90th minute winner, an exciting end to the match. But it's criticised by Murphy, highlighting the heavy touch and scooped shot as if it was some kind of fluke. He was stumbling over the correct insult and even came out with "it was a sloppy finish". We sit 6th but it's not even mentioned when they show the league table.

The main focus for analysis on any Watford match is nearly always on the opposition. Last week it was how good City were and this week how bad Swansea were.

I do find it strange but it will never change.

I should have this as my signature on here as I say it so much, but if we ever beat Tottenham then you'll really see the knives come out. We did it in the early 80's at their place and I still remember the vitriol afterwards. The press had it in for Taylor from that moment and they loved it when England failed under him.

I was going to get so angry at MOTD but realised we won and I was there and thought it was great so don't care what two former **** players like Danny Murphy and Martin Keown think.

True - that was because Deeney was leading the line who is probably apart from Gomes the only player at our club the mainstream media have any interest in (maybe Chalobah in time as he is an England prospect)

Get that at clubs like ours - one or two are singled out for coverage and Troy has an interesting back ground/life story.

The criticism of the finishing was harsh - what else was Richarlinson supposed to do - couldn't place it under the keeper or blast it.

Anyway its probably a sign of us doing well that there isn't a lot of talk about us - you can bet if we were Palace the Pozzos would be getting all sorts of stick!

Did you read my post #643? Because there are hundreds of thousands of United fans, and the BBC wants to maximise viewing figures rather than have them all go to bed early. As for Everton, their poor performances have been a big PL story so far. It's really not rocket science, nor is it some sort of conspiracy.

As for Richarlison's goal, posters on here called it a terrible goal and were critical of his touch: see #369 and #380 on the match thread.

Surely then the opposite should be done. Show the bigger teams last so all the glory supporting numbnuts have to sit through our apparent dross to watch their beloved superheroes.

The national broadcast media basically don't like us, they don't understand how the club is run, i.e. The Managers only lasting one season hasn't helped and they don't like the owners owning more than one club and inter club transactions.

Our ground has the second lowest capacity (along with Swansea) makes us a small club in the biggest league, I'm afaraid we will been seen as insignificant until we actually start to beat the top six, or actually win something! Taking points off those around us is great for us supporters but it's not what the media want to see!

Say we pull of something remarkable this season and finish 7th, the media coverage would still be minimal - aside from the odd patronising comment - because all the focus will be on the champions, the top 4 and the bottom 3. That is not the issue, because let's face it from a neutral point of view those are bigger stories, plus those who tipped us for the drop will hardly want it highlighted that we've actually dared to have a successful season.

No, the issue for me is that these pundits and journalists are paid huge sums of money to talk about football, but the majority can't be bothered to learn our players' names or offer any form of intelligent analysis as to why we've started the season well. Charlie Nicholas talked about our game for nearly 5 minutes, but couldn't offer anything beyond "they scored because of Swansea mistakes" in regards to why we won the game. I'm not expecting in-depth analysis, but I do expect pundits/journos to do their job properly.
