Watford FC 1-2 Manchester United - 15/09/2018

Little late for post match posting and most things have been pretty much covered.
The game was lost in the last 15 mins of the first half where we could have been more than two down.
Excellent second half and deserved a point but probably not a win
Thought ref tried to let the game flow as much as possible and certainly seen a lot worse
Gray has improved 100% on last season. Touch and passing much better and 2 goals in 5 games is not bad at all
Felt we got bullied by United in much the same way we did to Spurs. Don't remember us ever playing a bigger team
If we play like this all season we will do very well and top half should certainly be achievable
I don't mind the odd change as that is what having a squad is for. The difference now is that we have players that can actually make a difference like Chalobah, Success or Deulofeu. I however would not change the front 2 or the centre backs
Can't wait for Fulham
Last but certainly not least, Squibba, I am so sorry to hear what happened to you today. Absolutely disgusting and I hope they find the culprit and he gets banned for life

 

I've not experienced it myself at a Watford game but I've seen it for myself at one of our games. Unfortunately, as much as is devoid of a lot of knuckle-draggers, we aren't completely purged of them. I hope you told them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine and you should defo report it mate

 

There was a massive drone after the match hovering over Vicarage Road cemetery. Would love to see the footage of the departing crowd. Could have been a police one I suppose.

No. The difference is, now they are jokes.

 

I thought if a player was interphering with play he was offside, how can two players in the 6 yard box not be interphering with play, the keeper has to be aware of their presence and that is bound to distract him IMO.

I probably would not be bringing this up if it were the otherway around, but I really do think there is a strong argument that the position, especially that Sanchez was in could be constituted as interphering with play, the other guy in the 6 yard box was probably less of a distraction for Foster.

Maybe the law should be reverted to if you are in an offside position you are offside which would end the needlesss confusion END OF!

 

I think he is better in a more central role with a liscence to roam, I think he is more hit and miss playing wide right.

 

Of course, I absolutely agree with you. What I don't quite understand is people thinking that he is playing to a mind boggling level out wide right. He's doing okay (in an Abdi sort of way), but not sure why everybody thinks he's playing so well as I just don't see it.

I agree with that last statement but maybe narrow it down to the penalty area, certainly if your offside in the 6 yard area you are involved in the play. Sanchez was not directly in line with the shot but Foster would definitely have noticed him.
