Pulis isn't silly, if he'd have smelt blood he'd have gone for the win. He knew we'd take them apart if they'd opened up a bit and sat on a draw.

All credit to Pulis for taking a point off of a vastly superior side :sign15:

I've seen better opposition performances in the Championship, at least teams use to come to us last season and attempt to play a bit of football.

Goalless draws at home won't keep us in the Premiership but I imagine there won't be too many teams that come to the Vic and play like that this season- If WBA had actually tried to play a bit of football and opened the game up a little I think we could've probably won that by a couple. Southampton at home will be very interesting as they'll be going for it.

From somebody who didn't go to the game, hasn't seen any highlights or read any reports. All I've seen is what has been posted on here. From what I gather, we should have won, a draw was fair because we didn't create enough, we should have lost as the best chanced was missed by them. Layun was decent, ok and awful as was Juarado. Various other different views and opinions. Just shows how different everybody sees a game. Not seen a mention about the atmosphere. Any good?

Their best chance basically skimmed off someone's head and hit Berahino's at speed, he had zero chance of directing it but now it's being described as a missed sitter in the papers .... Joke really, you'd think WBA had opened us up but it was their only real chance. The actual best chance of the match was Ighalo's first effort which he hit at the keeper, anywhere else and it was in.

I was wondering the same. Also, did the 1881 do anything for the first home game? I think there was talk of flags being handed out again? (Hope you're having a nice holiday Knight btw)

Thanks for that, could not believe that a pro could be so concerned at half time about such an insignicant incident, God know what he would be like if a big penalty cal went against him.

Pulis (or was it Olson?) mentioned how difficult it was with our loud fans so it can't have been too bad.

Anyone know the words to the Pozzo family song the 1881 lads were singing on Saturday? Can't get the tune out of my head

Thought we were brilliant for 60 minutes but just didnt get the run of the ball. Then we started to tire and settled for a draw.
WBA are utter garbage at football. Quite good at egg chasing though.

Just watched MOTD on i player .... funny how things always look different the second time you see them.

Berahino's chance was actually a good one but Gomes was well positioned for anything near post or central and only an exceptional effort would have beat him. A sitter it wasn't.

And it might just be me but I thought Igahalo's left foot smash was actually parried over and should have brought a corner.
