We could always hope our esteemed Head Coach will have noticed this pattern himself and proactively changed the team around so Deeney doesn't start and this doesn't happen anyway...
Not going to this as I have no way to get back from Yorkshire after a Thursday night game. Potentially a tricky game if we are not on our mettle. Good to hear that we have all our injured players back, although Damien Francis may only be on the bench. If we can stop their key players (Alfredo di Stefano and Lee Hughes) we have a very good chance. I just hope Ray sticks with 4-4-2 as it worked so well last time out against Bayern. ITK's XI: Prediction: Spurs 2-3 Watford Goals from Foster and Nogan (x2) for us. COYB
I reckon our last win v Spurs away was in 1985 when we won 5-1 and feeling elated when leaving the ground only to then hear of the Bradford fire. Whilst we were a reasonable force to be reckoned with in those days under GT surely our luck must change in having suffered 7 league losses since then as well as breaking our current record of no goals on the road under JG- and I hope its not a 5-1 loss!
As an aside, the table has us 13th, behind Bournemouth with identical points, goal difference and goals scored. I believe this is incorrect and the media have lazily applied alphabetical order. In fact, the next determination is head-to-head, where we prevail over Bournemouth due to our win at their place. Watford are 12th, don't believe media lies!!!
Failure to win tomorrow night would equal our longest run without a victory since being back in the PL. We went 7 matches without a win midway through Mazarri’s season. We also ended that campaign without a win in six (all defeats). Silva had a six game run without a win this season, and so far the same for Gracia. QSF’s worst was five.
We've also not scored an away goal this year. No other team in the world has such a record. I'm quite proud of that. Opps....just realised Andre Gray scored that consolation at City on Jan 2nd.
Not quite – Andre Gray would be very upset that you've overlooked his goal at Manchester City on January 2.
I took a quick look at the rulez. We're 12th but not for the reason you suggest. The PL counts points, goal difference and goals for (in that order) to work out who should be above who. Head-to-head isn't included and, if two teams are completely level like us and Bournemouth, we're simply joint 12th. If relegation or european qualification was riding on it at the end of the season there would be a play-off to settle it.
L Look at Mr Money bags with his Sky+ HD box La di ******* da, SD not good enough for the HB1 household ?
I looked that up too, but isn’t it odd that there’s no laid down format for any play-off? The rule says: “...the Clubs concerned shall play off one or more deciding League Matches on neutral grounds, the format, timing and venue of which shall be determined by the Board.” Best of seven, maybe.
Ah, so I see. Seems I was looking at the rules in the Bundesliga, which in typical German style are a hell of a lot more logical than our own. Why would you play another game when you can just use the existing head-t0-head record!? Mad.
Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic changed their name to address this exact point. Very few teams will best AFC Bournemouth, certainly not a W team like Watford.
Watford and Bournemouth's firms have to meet up and fight to the last man standing, like those weird Russian ultras who meet up in the woods for a punch up, then all shake hands at the end. This battle royale will be held in a venue large enough to cater for both mobs, so a small room above a pub will be booked if required.
Teams always end bad runs against us , would be nice if spuds would repay the favour , cant see it happening though as we are usually utter dog ***** at end of season meaningless games and we have been crap at Wembly this century! Spurs 4 watford 0 , whens the last time we took points off spurs ?
That's a relief HB1. The stand appears to be a laminate not real natural wood and the SkyHD box is covered in dust. I knew it couldn't be yours. I expect the seats in your multiplex are VIP standard.
I didn't know those chairs with restraining straps at the wrists and ankles that they have in some high security mental hospitals are called 'lazy boys'. Interesting
You should ask the nurse, and I'm sure they will tell you what they are, when they do their next rounds.
Very unfair on monkeys and pencils for that matter! The 'Flying Donkeys' v 'The Stingless Hornets'? Should be a classic!
This season at the Vic. Drew 1 each but should or could of won with an obvious penalty claim turned down.
DEULOFEU FIT ALERT! This is not a drill, Deulofeu might actually be fit for tonight's game, we're going to smash them! https://twitter.com/gerardeulofeu/status/990923158369787905 Unless he means he's ready to watch it on Sky with a hot chocolate and some churros...
