Recently i have been getting frustated with the amount of forums this board now has.
I for one find it difficult to find things on occasions..so god knows what its like for newcomers or visitors to the board!

Do we really need a seperate forum for reserve team football? two betting forums? and three for 'games'?
Wouldnt it be better to amalgamate some of the betting and games forums..and then have these further subdivided?

This is nothing compard to some sites (who have various sections for "General discussions) but fair point about the "Reserve/Youth forum"

Transfers area needs to be separate IMH0.

don't bother with all the forums (fora?), just use the 'today's posts' button.

What if you want to read 'yesterday's posts'? ;)

Seriously though..its not only the current activities that people might be interested in. I often spend long spells away from the board and want to have a bit of a hunt around when i come back to it.
I never had a problem navigating the board in the past..i do now.

Hornmeister is the forum master. I'll get him on the case as I have to agree, things have gone a bit wild with forums lately.

No - use the "new posts" button. Much better.

Thanks Admin.. i knew i could rely on you ;)

    Just to clarify though...

Its not that i am against the different sub divisions, its just that the navigation process should be easier than it is.

And as Stevohorn says he is away a lot and wants to catch up on the news not just new posts. Read the thread.:forehead:

The new post button brings every thread that you personally have not already viewed, so that covers ALL the news

I too love the "today's posts" button. Covers everything in one click. The chaps are working on the new forum layout as I type.

Agreed about the reserve bit, no real need even when their season starts, it'll have a weekly or not so weekly match report from Nak and naff all else.

My main gripe isn't the number of forums but their names. Too much imagination has gone into them, to the extent where most of the major ones have names that don't correlate to function. Why 'Russos Office' when 'General Watford' did for ages? 'Hornet's Nest' is apparently a graphics forum. And feck knows what the Steam Room is called these days. Call things what they are to make navigation easier. Quite a few times now I've had to go to the front pages and read the descriptive blurb under each forum to work out which my thread should go in.

I use the 'subscribed threads' function all the time, next most I use Today's posts.

    Looks better.

    Two suggestions.

Combine World champ zone and Other sport in to 1 sub forum, it doesn't need 2.

Remove the sub forum of reserves and ladies and just use the main WFC chat forum

Cheers good suggestions. Both sections have mini moderators who control just those areas however and we may not be able to retain these settings. Will investigate.

I agree. I've also found myself having to read the descriptions because the name doesn't tell me what's in the forum.

it's now all starting to look a bit busy, Forum Name, Explination, mothers maiden name etc.

I don't think we need many more than 3 or 4 forums under how ever many forum headers

Like many i suspect, i don't go into them all but as Steve says finding something you do want can be hard work.

Its the problem with having a sucsessful forum, but can we not do what it says on the tin ?
