Tonights Atmosphere

First half good, second half we rocked.

10/10 to the Rookery.

 

Half-time mood was not so good though

 

disagree, left upper side of rookery was pathetic, we were singing on our own where we were for most of first half, even after 1-0! good for last ten minutes

 

So which morons decided to start singing "springy is a wan*er" ? Some people never cease to amaze me with their stupidity.

 

It's been a long time since I have heard singing outside the ground like tonight on Vic Road.

I despise them more than hate to be honest and Spring has connections to Watford and good ones at that. What he did last season should be remembered and respected. When i say respected i mean not singing moronic songs about him.

 

Spring's got my respect. I wouldn't go so far as to clap him if he scores against us, but I wouldn't want any abuse directed at him.

Who could seriously hate the guy after his goals at Palace and Naaarwich?

 

at the end of the day spring is now at luton. which means some suporters will react different to others to him which everyone will need to accept.

me for one hate him for going back to luton but everytime i think about him i think about palace away!

 

if he scored agast us for the second time maybe that would test my memory of palce and norwhich

Good luck to the guy (except if he plays against us) , he done us proud, and I for one won't forget that.

I may boo his team collectively, but I would never join in any derogitory chants aimed at him individually , in fact I may even applauld him as his name was announced, but not during the game.

 

I dont see why we should hate him for going back , in all fairness he was not gonna get played at watford , He wanted first team football and luton were they only team intrested.

 

I don't condone booing old players (with the exception of Cook and Connelly) but I think we shouldn't make any of them feel too welcome when they come back, look what happend with Heidar and Webber!

 

You're a total dumbass, I don't normally have a go at people on this forum but you've got the shutters down or something. Spring got us up to where we are now by scoring some really important goals (i.e Norwich, Crystal Palace) in my book he's a legend, ok he plays for Luton now, but I wish him every success, just like Aidy and others have done. Let's respect his achievements shall we?

More importantly is the focus of the singing. It was a crucial Premiership game against an inform team and some of our players were busting their asses to win. What the hell does this occasion have to do with a team destined for League one and an ex-player? Similarly, who in the Blackburn stand cares if 60 people hate Luton? Can't people keep songs relevant to the occasion?
And whilst I'm on the subject, does anyone else cringe at Big Dan's chant? What on earth does Sol Campbell have to do with it? Is it just a scanning issue to make the song work? We never had Sulzeer Campbell, never tried to sign him and he has never had even a tenuous connection with WFC or Dan Shittu. Why are we comparing the two of them? Arsenal invented this chant when they sold Anelka and signed Kanu, so the song was entirely suitable. Our version just needs some work IMHO. How about "Who needs Neal Ardley when we've got Shittu!" - OK, still rubbish, but do you get my point?

 

No mate, I didn't travel down yesterday. It's hard to get down to the midweek games without being totally shattered the next day! I will be at the United game next week though, my second 'home' game.

Dunno who that bloke was you saw in the Moon, my secret twin maybe? My parents never mentioned it! At least he supports the 'Ornsssss!

 

I sympathise, that's the same kind of problem I have for games like last night.

 

Good points Moog, i can't see how it helps the team by chanting how much you hate another team.

The atmosphere last night after the second goal was superb, even the whole of the east stand singing!

 

How reckless! Don't they know singing could cause the whole structure to collapse?

 

sorry to say that was my fault, normally I sit there upper left but last night I sat with BDA in the middle, I tend to bully the people sitting around me into singing - so with out methere I bet they were silent.;D ;D

It was nice to hear the singing last night - much better than the socusers at home, which tbh left me embaressed,


we just have to keep it up - I think it helps the players no end!!

 

I thought we did reasonably well with the singing given our previous form.

 

all good points - but how do you get the entire rookery singing different songs to the ones they know and love??

 

I know the Shittu song isn't particularly relevant but it's popular and gets alot of the stand singing and it sounds bloody good when the majority of the rook sings it.
