I don't want him to do an Abdi; get rushed back and only further compromise his knee. If he's healing faster then expected than all the better though and hopefully we'll see him soon.
https://www.watfordfc.com/news/dele-bashiru-im-working-really-hard End of the season or start of next for a return according to the man himself. He’s not even started ‘light training’ yet. I reckon if we see him this season it’ll be final day sub to let him get him back on the pitch again and give him something positive to work towards over the summer.
Little video with TDB about his return to fitness. https://twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1378403171534536707
By the time he's fit again we'll be back in the Premier league and he'll be nowhere near good enough to play for us. Isn't it ironic. Screeching harlot Alanis morrissette's hidden verse.
Two things stand out from that. First how delicate an athlete's life is,one slip could end your career. Secondly the fact that no one under the age of 40 ever loosens their shoe/boot laces before putting the footwear on! Good luck to him.
Who AM? What does she do? I did have to stand at The National through nine hours of The Orestia but I was quite still for the main!
This lad was beginning to look good before his injury, but because of the injury I would imagine he might go out on loan next season, but we should definitely not sell him IMO.
I'd loan him to a Championship for the start of next season and then give us the option of recalling him in January if he looks up to the job
Just in time to kick up a contract fuss and tell the media he needs to test himself at a higher level.
Not sure whether to post here or start a new thread in the transfer section (because it's such an obvious move), on Sky 3 Championship clubs have been linked with a loan move for TDB
It's obviously is what he needs. Hopefully they will choose a club where he is likely to get the most game time. I would also like to see a January recall option...just in case we need him!
It's a delicate balance, he's played such little football that we need to make sure he gets games, but also ideally at a decent enough standard of club that would help him develop rather than some bottom feeder
Just been looking on the Reading forum for indicators on how TBD has performed. The overriding impression was a sliding scale from average to poor. I couldn’t find a single fan who wanted to keep him for next season. The most positive quote I saw was someone saying he was talented but offered very little. I was a little surprised and disappointed by the comments. I’m pretty sure he’ll be part of the setup next season, but it looks as though only really as a backup option, and we have so many of those already.
He was in a poor overall environment. I imagine they think every single one of their players, perhaps barring Swift, should be placed on a sliding scale from average to poor. They also used him largely as a winger for some reason. He’s a relatively young player who got some minutes at Championship level and spent the season overcoming a horrible injury. He’ll probably be used as a rotation/backup option and that’s fine.
He seemed to start well scoring goals but as you say Reading were a struggling side and maybe wanted to play more experienced guys in a relegation battle .
Caught trying to dodge a fare https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...s-tom-dele-bashiru-fined-skipping-train-fare/
I’d expect an expensive fare charged on board, but not a fine and a court date. Is that normal? Couldn’t he have just said he was in a rush and thought he could pay on board?
