Loved Boothroyd's season but not sure I would have him back. Gibbs has coached at the top level and is obviously a Watford legend so must be in the running. I quite like the idea of a young coach, Gosling possibly but I don't know if he's looking at a coaching role. I would go for young over experienced as the game has changed a lot and would like to see new ideas.
Has Gilligan left or been moved?

He’s reverting back full time as Academy Technical Head I believe.

Would make a nice change from hearing about Bachmann and Raj being Ulysses, and not brave.

He could def "do a job", though not recently as he's been unemployed for the last 14 months. Probably another 18 months to go before he would be tempted and we could snare him.

    Ha sorry .

I thought you meant Bruce tbh and looked up Alex Dyer and first time was a younger one who did play close to home .

Then found the older Alex Dyer !

    He has been around.

I think Pardew has embedded himself at TalkSport. Latest TS soundbites include Pardew 'SLAMMING the price of the new England kit' and 'BACKING Mark Robins' to replace that Dutch bloke at Man Ewe.

People here joke about Pardew and have regularly listed him as one of those "big name" managers that are currently big in name only (along with Redknapp, Hughes, etc - even Pearson had his doubters on appointment) but he actually did a really good job early in his career at Reading and West Ham, and later on briefly at Newcastle and Palace. Problem is he's really lost his way over the greater part of the last decade and the period before his results go to hell gets shorter with every club (Reading he left on a high - in contrast IIRC he never even got going at WBA).

I still would've preferred Steve Coppell, Alan Curbishley, George Burley or even Redknapp during his earlier years because he's never come across as particularly likeable.

Really what Curbishly looks like now? Woah. Makes me feel even older than I am... I remember him being in the PL with Charlton in his prime management years. Time seems to move so fast.

I have a sense (which is informed but very loosely) that is unlikely any of the names mentioned on here since yesterday.

But the club are far better at keeping things quiet since Giaretta left so who knows.
