DROP...Mahon DROP...Henderson DROP...Francis They have been constant all season (constantly sh*te) ...time to change!! Aidy...!! Where was our substitue keeper...(bet he doesn't do that again!!) Can't believe I am saying this...but TOMMY SMITH is our BEST player!! Although we missed Foster's big kicks.. it was quite good, refreshing even, for us to build from the back with possession... problem was we were devoid of any footballing ideas from this position.... BUT... WE DO HAVE THE PLAYERS IN THE SQUAD....to play good football!!! We have nothing to lose... let this team evolve!!
He was great with that penalty...composed with lots of strength... WELL DONE Hendo, excellent!!! (can't take that away) The rest of the season.?? ?? ?? (woeful) He had the bottle to have a shot last night in the second half... only problem was he should have passed to Hammer! DROPPED!! !! (to the bench...)
But who would you put in his place? Unfortunately our defenders are still going to hoof high balls up to the strikers whether they're 6'3" or 5'8" (with the exception of the Arsenal game which we haven't managed to repeat) I agree about either Mahon or Francis. They go together like Baileys and Ribena . It couldn't have escaped Aidy's notice that the games where Francis has played anywhere near like a Premiership player he has had Bangura alongside him. I thought Bangura had one of his best games against Blackburn - his passing had improved and was still getting stuck in to the tackle. I didn't go to West Ham so can't comment on how he played there and then after the Man Utd game (where the whole team and formation were woeful) he's dropped again. What's happened to Williams? After all the PR crap when he signed and the programme article last week, we are led to believe here is a player that potentially is the best passer of the ball at the club. And yet still we'll pick players that will be bypassed by a 60 yd Mackay or Mariappa hoof.
Drop Francis and Mahon, totally agree. Was a terrible performance from them both but dropping Hendo is not the answer imo. Hes scored 2 in 2 and high on confidence and is he only one who can win a header while we are playing our direct style. We saw at Villa that it just doesnt work playing for example Priskin and Hoskins together. We need someone with aerial ability. I thought Hendo was one of the few who played okay yesterday.
drop one or the other - probably Francis, they do not seem to fit together and there is no balance between their two styles. They do not coompliment each other.
Henderson was the best player for us last night. He scored and got stuck in and had a lot of (difficult) chances. Kabba is the one who needs to be dropped, he is 10 seconds too slow, particularly at making runs for Henderson's knock-downs.
Drop Hendo? After his confidence is now finally growing as you could see last night with that long shot he had. He was our best outfield player and i can see him scoring at least 3 more goals this season. Drop Mahon has been P!ss poor for a few games now, make him realise he needs to work harder for the team.
agree do not drop hendo. I think bring in bangura, we always seem to play better with him in the side. What about Rinaldi he scored for the ressies?
Yeah we could give Rinaldi a run out, see how he plays and if he can keep the ball down on the floor.
::]] :]] i would say drop mahon as even though francis seems to be a lazy bugga he can still chip in with the odd goal whereas with big gav i cant remember when he scored last, i know he is more defensive minded but he just doesn't seem to do anything. i dont think doris should be dropped because like it has been said before he is now starting to build confidence and i reckon he'll chip in with maybe 5 more this season but we just have to get the style of play right. why not experiment with a different system like a 3-4-3 or something have Jay, shi2 and mackay at the back with francis,cavalli,williams/bangura and smith with kabba and boooza just sitting a little bit of hendo as the target man??
When you say brave decisions, we might need to take Mahons Captaincy off. He doesn't motavate well if he doesn't play well.
I say drop Mahon and send him back to 1985 where his wild arm waving might be considered some form of break dancing. He'll become the finest rapper/break dancer ever to emerge from Birmingham and we'll never have to worry about him waving his arms/falling over/commando rolling about the pitch ever again. Whoever said drop Hendo, may i just say your mad. He's started scoring a goals and finally looks like he's adjusted to the pace of the Prem. Kabba meanwhile, looks like he left his legs in Sheffield and replaced them with wooden legs. Either that or he's a lazy bugger.
I wont attack individual players but what i will say is we need to change a few players for a next game. If fit Shittu needs to be back in the side and a left back who doesn't spend most the match out of position will be handy even better if they can kick straight too. Two new center midfielder's I'd like to see Bang bang and Cavalli. Hendo is a must thought last night he ran his b0ll0cks off if anything too much as he was carrying his strike partner who needs replacing I'd like to see Priskin start. What have we got to lose?
