I thought it was really naff at first but it's grown on me and actually its quite a handy indicator during debates. i vote it stays
It's just indicative of the way in which everything is dumbed down. If you have an opinion, post it; if you want to thank someone for their post, say so and say which bit you liked and why. Getting rid of it doesn't mean you can't express gratitude or appreciation. The English language is a fantastic tool for communicating. Use it. Bin the lazy button.
bin it as it adds nothing to the forum if anything it just stops people posting as they dont need to comment they can just thank
Agreed!!! The quote button with your own comments added underneath, just like this, does a better job IMO!
I was all for it to start but I say bin it, this is the wrong type of forum to make use of it potential.

Bin it. Adds zilch to forums other than a cop out for the lazy. There have been a few times people have 'thanked' someone and I'd have loved them to have explained why.
Maybe it'll get rid of Ian too, spent a fair amount of time getting some highscores last night only for him to stroll along and pinch most of them.
Bin the 'thanks', a waste of time! If the arcade was to go, I would not use this board as much, still play it a fair bit. Perhaps just get rid of those games not played so much (apart from Destructo Match that is!!)

Ok but look at who has been thanked the most. It is mainly the Mods and myself, who got thanked for putting up vBookie odds. Hardly providing much use is it? The only other person who probably get thanked is Nak, and that is for his interest in the young'uns!
