I hope villa get an absolute stuffing in the cup. Destroy their confidence further. And Grealish gets sent off. Nothing less than 8-0 city will please me.
And stop Liverpool winning the league hopefully! Even if the season ends early and they give it to them, it'll be a cheap, hollow and false title.
Nothing to lose , no pressure and all to play for. Their last 2 games are Chelsea and Man City so like us will need to be safe by them.
I can't see past 2 more wins, maybe 3 draws and 6 defeats from the last 11 games which gets us to 33 points which would probably see us in bottom or 2nd bottom place. We've only won 5 of the first 27.
It's looking that way. I've got a feeling that we'll be starting the Saints match early April on 26 points.
I'd previously written off our home game against Leicester in a couple of weeks, but they're looking very beatable at the moment - only 1 win in their last 10. It'll still be tough, but it's another one to add to the games we could still get something from if we play to our full ability.
Ndidi being out injured is reportedly the biggest issue. But he came off the bench in the second half last night so will no doubt be fully up to speed when they play us.
It's both really - while they were doing well they were the team in the league that was most outperforming their xG by quite some distance, largely due to Vardy's form (while over the same period we were the team most underperforming ours). Also, given the state of our defence relative to the quality of our midfield, I'd be much more concerned with them having an in form Vardy versus an in form Ndidi.
I don't see West Ham as being one of the teams to go down; obviously it would still be better for us if they lost, but I don't think it really matters that much, they have too many good fixtures remaining. Brighton losing at home to Palace was big for us though, that would have been one of the games they would have looked at as needing to get 3 points from.
I think we'll be fine. Look at the fixtures Brighton, Bournemouth and Villa have left. Today's result is HUGE!
Three unexpected points. Three goals and a clean sheet. Sarr really does make a huge difference in our play. In all honesty we could of won by more against probably the best team in the world. Let's take this performance to Palace now and start another run.
Klopp's quotes after the game showing credit to Watford after the 3-0 defeat and Liverpool's first league defeat in 44 matches. 'We play only against teams who fight with all they have for their own targets, now Watford was really the first team who could really use that. If you ask me what was the biggest surprise, the performance or the result, the biggest surprise for me is that Watford fights for staying in the league, that’s incredible with the quality they have and stuff like this. Even our home game against them with a new manager I felt like we were playing a team who is of a really high quality.'
Hopefully that means Palace take their foot off the gas a bit, before Newcastle they were looking like potentially being dragged in, now they've got their Derby win, they're probably safe now
Obviously it's still very important, and we must still be targeting those types of games, but the great thing is that Palace all of a sudden doesn't quite seem so make or break
My forecast of starting April on 26 points has been ruined by the lacklustre red army. Klopp you've made me look a fool
We’ve played a variety of teams under big Nige now and have a similar variety left to play. He has a points per game ratio of 1.5 per game with us, replicate that over the remaining 10 games and we finish on 42 and are comfortably safe. We’ve had set backs of course, but the reality is when he took over, we were bottom 6 points adrift, 12 games later we're three places higher in 17th and out of the relegation zone. We can beat any of the teams we have left to play, the reality is we don’t need to, we just need to do exactly what we’ve done since Nige came in.
Trouble is when you have so little breathing space, one run over 5 games of less than 1ppg, and you get dragged back in. Going into the last 2 games we either need to be 7 clear of 3 sides or 4 clear of lots of sides. Or get a result in those two games of course.
Well given yesterday's result predicting the outcome of individual games is not a good idea, however, Norwich are away to Man City on the last day. More importantly, if WHU and Villa are still in the mix below us, they play each other on the last day, so that game can only generate 2 or 3 points.
