I have heard today there may be a chance of signing super Kev. Now I would be astonished if it did happen, but as I hear it he wants to move back to one of his old clubs, Watford or Southampton. The guy that told me this understands that West brom will onlly offer Phillips a 12 month contract and he is sick of waiting around. He also understands that Watford would be willing to offer a 2 year contract with an option of a 3rd year. Surely that would be the Aidys best signing if he could pull it off, I just can't see it some how. We can always hope though!
Please god let this be true. What's your source though mate, obviously I don't expect a name but what is his relation to the club or how might he of attained such information?
Certainly a brilliant player at this level, but forgive me for being sceptical when I say I'll believe it when I see it.
The Guy I know is not actually working for the club. He is a posh talking customer of a business a work for. He tells me he is a very good friend of one of the directors and often attends games with him. He did let me know we were signing Bromby before that deal happend so there might be an ounce in truth in this one. I agree with everything you have just said.
You sound very certain of this. So these top business men are going to be throwing money round like its gone out of fashion are they. Kev is a great player but he won't be asking for 20k a week. Did you get that off football rumours?
£20k a week for a 25 goal player at this level is not unlikely. Ellington is supposed to be on what, £23k or thereabouts is he not? Yes he is old, but goals are goals and QPR can certainly offer head and shoulders above everyone else THEORETICALLY... Of course they have signed some fairly shyte players and also just sacked their manager who had done a pretty tidy job. More money than sense methinks.
Where did you hear that Ellington is on 23K? Sorry I just don't buy that! Phillips getting 15K wouldn't be unlikely but in the Championship there are very few players on 20K or above. Those that are come from teams relegated from the Prem.
Beware, when Kevin Phillips left Villa he had an offer from Sunderland but chose WBA because he didn't want to move his children out of school.
I hope to God we sign Philips, though not at the expense of strengthening the rest of our squad mind. He is ancient and thus should not be being paid like Christiano mule-face Ronaldo. Aidy said in an interview just recently that King was on nothing like £25k a week. I am fully aware that this could be a downright lie, but I doubt it.
Kev sure could teach our young strikers a thing or two. Maybe slot him into a coaching role after a season? I think it could be a wise move tbh.
Albion want Kev to stay! So dont expect any movement here. Even though his contract is up there is a new one waiting to be signed they are expecting this very soon.
Weren't you the one that named about 5/6 signings that would happen in January and said to "tick them off as they happen", none of which did?
Kev wants to be offered a 2 year contract which WBA won't offer him. QPR Have offered a 2 year deal with 20k a week
