You guys have IKEA in England, don't you?
In about 3 hours, the US will play Sweden in Goteborg. Jay gets another crack at proving he belongs on the US first team.

After the game, Landon Donovan and Jonathan Bornstein will meet David Beckham and fly back to LA for the Galaxy-Chivas derby tomorrow night. MLS does not have International play breaks yet... :(

Dull game, one it seemed nobody on either side was interested in playing.

Sweden looked much larger than the US team. There were a lot of guys getting run down from behind and no calls, no one cared.

Jay was subbed in for Fulham's Carlos Bocanegra who wore the Captain's band around the 76', just after Coach Bradley ran up the white flag by mercifully pulling Donovan in the 70'.

Jay played servicibly, and it seemed the offense flowed from the defense during his part of the game.

Thanks for the write-up. Good to see Jay wasn't stressed by a full 90 minutes - we want him fit and ready for Saturday.

ps had to smile as I read your match report - you make it sound a bit like an NFL match - or is that me being too "English" ;)

Thanks...I felt the same way about Jay. I wish Donovan would have been taken off sooner and Bornstein left to run for the rest of the game.

Anway, I'm 100% red white and blue American and there isn't a game that is more American than American Football, so it'/s no surprise I sound like it and it sounds like me.

Nevertheless, NFL match reports don't use words like 'mercifully' and 'servicibly'. Adverbs sound gay, apparently.
