I see that their manager Colin Lipiatt is leaving at the end of the season to join a conference national side in a non-coaching capacity. He claimed he did not have the desire or focus to carryon managing the club next season. A few on the saints forum think this is due to lack of ambition from their board.

However the most interesting bit is that there a strong rumours that Nigel Gibbs could well become their next manager, what with him being a local lad (went to school with my dad & uncle) and we could be seeing him taking his first steps into management.

Also Luther Blissett has announced he's leaving Chesham at the end of the season to pursue a project within motorsport. He did well to steady a sinking ship but i'm not sure if he was ever really cut out for management. Chesham's future doesn't look too great and they're starting to look like another non-league side who threw money at the situation and it hasn't paid off.

Did your dad and uncle go to Marshelswick School with him then Chewitt, my old school (changed to Sandringham by then but we still has his England under 21 shirt on the hall). I know a few people at St Albans behind the scenes having played for them as a youth and they have really struggled this season due to them not being full time. If they had stayed up, they were going to go full time and Lippiat was going to stay but I can't see Gibbs going there, even though his dad is a regular fan still apparently

Yes i believe they went to Sandringham if i remember correctly, my uncle was in the same year with him and my dad a couple above. Although they walked to school together and often played football with him too. Apparently Gibbs was was in the school first team when he was in year 8 !!

The one good thing if Gibbs did go there would be the fact that we could possibly arrange work experience deals for our younger players at City, something I wissh we had done this season as playing conference football for someone like Theo Robinson or even Campana would have been good and much better than the lower leagues of Weladstone.

City are really relying on getting a new ground as Clarence Park is so decrepid, something the local council don't seem too keen on helping out with as Clarence Park has to stay as open land and other land around the city is obviously very expensive and difficult to build on.

Agree with the point about young players going there, whilst i believe redevelopment isn't an option for clarence park thus they are looking at a new ground.

I think it was a good move to send him to Wealdstone.

Anyone who sees games that low down will know just how much more physical the game is.

Sure, there isn't the tactical battles or blinding wing play or anything, but he will get battered there.

And that is precisely the sort of team Boothroyd wants. Hendo/Shittu types, who charge about knocking things over.

Theo now has 9 goals in 13 games for Wealdstone who have actually won their last 2 games, so I think that level is a bit easy for him (though I think it was Chewit who said he was not great against hemel the other week)

PotGuy, i often go to Hemel Town games and saw Theo in action on the 7th when Wealdstone came to town, i'll tell you know he won't be a knock things over kind of striker and if that performance was anything to go by he won't be any more than a league 2 striker in the future.

Incidentally you appear to be from Hemel, do you go at all to Hemel's games ?

no no, I'm not saying I've seen him play, because I havn't.

I have no idea what he is playing like.

I was just suggesting what I though Boothroyd might be thinking by sending him to a lower division.

If I am wrong, sorry, but I never said it was a fact :)

Crossed wires, i wasn't saying what you said was fact and was just informing yu of how he played when i saw him for 90 minutes. :)

Do you go to Hemel Town at all ?

No I have seen them a couple of times, but it's not a regular thing. I do look out for how they do, but it's very casual.

    You a regular?

My time at Sandringham finished 9 years ago, had a good time there. I was another city youth player, we had a good side at the time but Simon Martin was the only one that made it as a regular first teamer

Must say I enjoyed it there, look back on it a bit and realise I do miss it.

Onwards and upwards in the world now though

Dean Austin has been tipped to be the new manager, former St Albans who went onto play for Spurs, many fans want Gibbs though and even Luthur has been mentioned as he previously applied a few years ago

Luther won't be manager there, he's moving into a motorsport project and to be honest i'm not sure he'd cut it at that level.
