Stick Bang Bang in....Mahon was absolutely awful tonight..couldn't pass, couldn't tackle, stood watching for large parts, even when the ball dropped a few yards away from him...Not a performance from a club captain to inspire the team and fans.

ps..thought Hendo played well, Smith played well...but lacking in attacking ideas in midfield, looked like both mahon and Francis didn't want the ball, and certainly werent sure about what they were supposed to do when they got it.

c'mon Aidy, we bought some midfielders, give them a chance...

Ps..liked Cavalli, even for a vertically challenged player, seems to have a lot of quality about him..and not scared to have a run at players.

    Should be on the bench...

Twice, two games running, our CAPTAIN has not been able to dominate the midfield against two teams with TEN men!

Forget about dominating midfield... he looks like he doesnt know what to do with the ball, his position his all over the place, and he is playing like a clown....

    ...leading by example!!

    berkshirehorn presumably I upset/disappointed someone

I couldn't believe anyone could play as badly as mahan played last night. apart from the tackle 2nd half he couldn't put a foot right.

The two things Mahon gives are a good leadership presence and 110% effort. Both sadly lacking last night.

Maybe he's not 100% fit? There seemed to be a lack of interest from midfield after the 1st goal. Give Bangers a run out, no-one can critisise the effrot he puts in.

Should he be in the squad? Definitely. Should he be in the team? Arguable.

Mahon and Francis together in central midfield simply doesn't work.
Bring in Bangura to protect the back four, and then play one of Francis, Cavalli, and Williams.

Bangura and Francis work well together!! Why cant we put them 2 out again with Williams on the bench. GET MAHON OUT!!

Should Mahon or Francis be in the squad, YES.

In the team probably not after last night.

Cavali and bang in the middle.

Not been impressed by either Williams or Williamson in their brief outings.

How can "Sideways" Mahon be our captain. He was at fault for the goal and didn't want the ball at all last night. He looked like a lost boy. Francis was no better! AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!:fighting1: :fighting1: :fighting1:

    STOP COMING OUT WITH EXCUSES!

Talking of excuses do you think he'll have one of those stomach bugs on saturday?

On the plus, attempted back heel from the goal kick that led to the Wigan goal is a trick even Ronaldinho won't be able to master. Clearly been watching Rinaldi practice tricks after training and thought he'd get in on the act.

After his performance last night, any other player would have been dropped, but he's the captain, it'll never happen. Jordan led by example when he was captain, Gavin certainly doesn't. Hopefully next season we'll invest and get ourselves a ball winning/playing centre midfielder. Shaun Derry, i know he's a complete c***, but a player like him would go down nicely. (couldn't think of any other championship players before people call me a nutter!)

We desperately need some movement in our the centre of the park. Lack of movement allows teams to double up on our wingers because our full backs have to drop deep to collect the ball from our centre backs, who in turn have two choices, sideways pass to the full back or launch it long to Hendo.

Id personally like to see how we play without Mahon on saturday. He obviously has got some issues going on (them being that he's rubbish) but i dont think that Aidy will drop him.

We've got other midfielders, if they can't get in the side ahead of the two muppets of last night (Francis and Mahon) then they must, indeed be awful. Bangura deserves a few games.

Mahon was absolutely diabolical. He's not even champ standard.

He's meant to be a footballer yet like someone in front of me kept screaming "the ball hasnt got f*****g leprosy" (not sure how you spell that!)

    Dump him... bloody awful!
