Firstly, I must point out I've put this in the Championship section for the sake of correctness ;) :]]

SUFC spent bucket loads of cash to get promoted. It was even reported that failure to get promoted last season would have led to them having to have a firesale to avoid massive debts. This season they've gone on to spend shed loads on wages, transfer fees and stadium expansion with the net result of relegation. They mortgaged themselves to do this.

Combine that with Colin being out of contract and they could be in the poo. I can't see him staying when it all shakes out. It'll be a "I've taken them as far as I can go" type departure and he'll wander off.

I would suggest that given their position for most of the season they've spent a proportion of next years money as well. They might be ok next season financially but if they don't cut their cloth accordingly it could be a hard future ahead for the Blunts. Especially if Warnock disappears and they lose their talisman.

They'd made a loss even with promotion, so relegation could be a disaster for them. I think out of the three teams we should be in the best position financially (IF our back room problems dont have too much of an effect on finances obv).

Agreed. Chalton spent this summers budget last summer as well. And they did that based on the proviso they'd be in the Premiership next season. But the sale of Bent should balance the books. That said I don't think they'll have loads to spend.

I wouldn't say I was glad that any team got relegated but I have to say I am not too upset. ;D

Good post UEA. I think they could well be heading the way of Leeds. Yorkshire have had a nightmare of a season. Sheff Utd, Leeds Utd, Rotherham all relegated. Barnsley and Halifax crap seasons only Shef Wed respectable.

    Interesting days ahead...

it is a point but if they are shrewd with who goes out and comes in....22 million over 2 seasons they could stay afloat if warnocks still there though i really hope they dont
