https://tbrfootball.com/report-clau...g-to-sign-arsenal-defender-in-january-window/ The Telegraph claim that Claudio Ranieri is keen on luring Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac to Vicarage Road in January. It comes, after Ranieri publicly criticised ex-Tottenham defender Danny Rose over his work rate. Kolasinac, 28, is out of contract at Arsenal in June. It comes, after he returned to North Lodnon in the summer following a loan spell with Schalke. But he has been afforded just four appearances in all competitions. Indeed, the Bosnia defender has only started one Premier League match – the 5-0 defeat to Manchester City. He has appeared as a sub against Leicester and only made the squad on two other occasions in the league. Currently, he is sidelined with an ankle problem but ultimately, he is third choice behind Nuno Tavares and Kieran Tierney. Of course, Watford could also do with a centre-back and Kolasinac can play in the middle of the defence. I think he would be a good signing. Certainly an improvement on Rose and Masina.
Actually think he’d be a very good signing - as let’s be honest, we won’t be signing players without baggage or finished articles, as much as we’d like to. But as above, there’d have to be some sort of arrangement with wages because he’s on fortune at Arsenal - reportedly £100k a week.
I would imagine this would be a loan with an obligation if we stay up. Decent signing if we get him. I’m sure a deal can be done on wages of all parties want it to happen. I’m surprised we don’t do more business with Arsenal, seeing as we’re neighbours.
He’s got a name that this forum would discover multiple ways to butcher. We’ve really missed that since Ducoure and Delofue left. It’s a yes for me.
The benchmark to beat is Rose and Masina. This could be a random name from the phone book and it would be an improvement.
He’s out of contract at the end of the season. Maybe a loan with Arsenal subsidising wages and then having some sort of contract with him lined up should he acquit himself well. But not too keen on this one.
He is on £100k a week at Arsenal and he suffered a bad ankle injury in November, and I don't know if he has recovered from that or not yet. Also he is rumoured to be joining Fenerbace (spelling) the Turkish team on a free transfer in January, so if we want him it looks like we will have a fight on our hands with the Turks.
I disagree he Kolasinac is more than good enough for us. He is on massive wages but his contract is coming to an end and no other club is going to pay him what Arsenal have been. 28 isn't even old.
Supposedly back in full training in January. Arsenal told Fenerbache they want a transfer fee in January and now its rumoured Fenebache are looking elsewhere.
Yeah that’s fair. I just don’t agree, genuinely don’t think he’s better than Masina + he’s overweight as well. We need players that are definitely upgrades and ready now — I personally think this is a bad move should it happen
He plays for Arsenal, of course he’s an upgrade! Plus as an Arsenal fan I’d be delighted as I know who he is.
I mean he's definitely better than Masina surely? Would quite like him around for a relegation fight plus as a brainless defender prone to giving away a penalty or getting a red card he fits right in.
Think it would probably be a similar conundrum to Danny Rose… Would we be able to get him back to the good Kolasinac (Rose) that was at Schalke (Spurs)? Or would he get a contract with us and not feel compelled to do much for it and continue his current malaise as per Rose? If it’s the former then I’m all for it. If it’s the latter, steer well clear.
If you liked Holebas, you'll love Kolasinac. And there's a sporting chance he might even like us too.
Broken ankle eh? pop him on stretcher and dump him over the fence at Colney job done. If there is one thing our medical team are good at it's dumping players with leg injuries out of stretchers
Lower league signings can be great but for every Bardsley or Sinnott, there is always the risk of signing a Mayo.
