Marc Edworthy, Andy Keogh and Marc Bridge-Wilkinson. Keogh did well against us in the cup but does he get many goals whilst the others 2 are either quite old (hardly going to be a long term replacement for Doyley at right back) or been playing in the lower leagues for most of his career so some might say typical Aidy signings. We've been linked with the Carlisle goalie too...Westwood?
Edworthy is about 60 years old...no thanks! Marc Bridge-Wilkinson isn't exactly young either...no thanks! Keogh is a very good player, I was very impressed with him at Molineux at the start of the season...easily their best player...i'd like to have him here...he's not an out-and-out striker though, he plays more behind the striker. Clever player. Westwood...yes please! Very good keeper!
Totally agree about Keogh he looked really effective up at their place and did you notice Aidy talk with him for some time at the end of that game? My only concern is he susceptible to injuries?
Watford could sign Kieron Westwood from Carlisle for £650,000 after there failure to get promotion. Watford are also currently scouting Ebbsfleets young forward John Akinde after a number of impressive performances not sure on the sources, c&p from GH
is that the game we scored more goals than the opposition? Reaally effective is just not good enough - the kabba stumble and the Jordan wobbler were however totally effective.
I also can't see Wolves selling him, which is why I was suprised to read this! We could offer players in exchange? Kabba and Ellington? IF we were to get Keogh then we'd need to find someone to play infront of him!
He scored 11 goals in 38 games which isnt a very good record and if Wolves are a bunch of losers then so must we be as they did only finish a goal behind us. If he cant do well there then why would he do any better here?
Just under 1 goal every 3 games...not a bad record for someone that ISN'T an out-and-out striker, but more of an attacking midfielder!! We beat Wolves twice last season, and played them off the park on both occasions!
You do keep insisting on using the number of games he started - it's actually 13 in 60. And before you say substitute appearances don't count, remember dear old Cloughie said "It only takes a second to score a goal"
I'd deff have Keogh here, looked quality against us in the cup (having said that, he was playing against Malky). From what I have seen of Westwood looks pretty good too and young for a keeper (23).
Keogh is a very good footballer. Scored 2 goals last night in a friendly for Ireland, and another goal the game before that. He can score goals, is young, and is fairly quick. Believe he got man of the match for us against Germany also in the qualifiers.
Keogh would be very good for us. The other 2 would be very baffling choices. Surely we'd be able to attract better players?
If we buy him then we'll just have the same problem as we had with Ellington- a striker who is good at dropping deep and looking for through balls, but with no fast strikers making any decent runs to play it to. Akinde looked really, really promising judging by the FA Trophy Final. He was incredibly quick and pretty strong and very tall and is only 18. He looked better on the wing where he had space to run with the ball, than up front though.
