No point taking him. Leave him at home and give someone else the chance.

We'd do well to get past the group stage anyway.

1 down, just Gerrard, Lampard and Terry to go now.

That was what I was thinking as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Capello took him anyway though!

As for the FA potentially appealing against it, to me that is laughable as if it happened in a domestic game it would be an automatic 3 game ban anyway!

    No point taking him?

Whether you like him or not he is by far and away our best player and one of only two in our squad that would walk into any team in the world with ease.

If you appeal is there a threat of the ban being extended.

Doesn't matter anyway. We're useless regardless of who plays.

A three game ban as I expected.

Whoever goes the format will be the same. Limp through the group stages, then go out to someone on penalties after playing out a painfully boring 0-0.

Whats the fuss about? A straight red is always a 3 game ban, and kicking someone is always a red. Don't see why everyone's so shocked! Lets be honest with Capeello we'll be lucky to win a game, the sooner the euro's are over the better imo

The sooner Capello goes, the better.
Perhaps a failed tournament will be enough reason not to offer him another contract, although by then it would probably be too late.

Leave Rooney behind, he might actually learn a lesson!

And our entire tournement will revolve around him being there and waiting to play. Leave him behind and the players can concentrate on what they need to do without the media circus he brings with him.

He's going at the end of 2012 I think.

Lets not get too het up on getting an English manager as many have failed in the recent 3/4 decades (Robson and Venables apart)...including our own GT ofcourse.

Maybe missing some games will ensure Rooney is motivated enough to perform for the latter stages if the team get that far.

It would be easier to listen to Adebayor than Rooney...

Imagine this, we get through the group stages somehow, and then are embarassed in the knockout stages and then the media will claim that Rooney should have come. There would be a media circus anyway. I'm undecided on whether to take him or not, fantastic player and striking up a wonderful partnership with Young, but a massive massive twunt.

So many ifs, but if Ingerland take Rooney he will be targeted by every team that you play, just waiting for the red mist to appear.

Leave him at home ,let someone else come thru that will not embarras the nation.

"Whether you like him or not he is by far and away our best playe" Based on his Man U performances I'd be inclined to agree. However based on his performances for England I'm nothing like as sure.

I don't get this "best player" nonsense. Exactly what did he do in South Africa?

Leave him at home. We're in the same situation now we were in when Beckham was injured where everyone seems to think we need him to be succesful.

Personally I don't think we do. I'd have A.Johnson down the left, Downing down the right with Young playing just behind or up with Bent.

Young, Bent and Downing played well together at Villa and have an understanding. Plus we all know how well Young and Johnson played here. Admittedly it's a different level but both players have come on since then too.

Plus as said previously he will just be targeted ala Ronaldo!

I can't believe people are even debating whether he'll go to the Euro's or not, of course he'll still go.

I checked teletext first thing this mornign at 5:30 whilst feeding the baby HOPING to see this news , i am chuffed , i hate the man , i hate his arraogance and the fact he cant control himself on the pitch at the detriment to our country , again and again , yet is happy to take the obscene salary he gets paid without a blink

a vile boy , who needs leaving at home next summer...

And old alex ferguson , i dont mind him sometimes but he is in the media saying , it was just a `litle kick` and that is just the way rooney rolls , and wheres the real harm , you have to laugh , even more os at the FA for appealing when as someone further up says , violent conduct = 3 match ban , always has done , how is this any different ?

Well , between Robson , Venables , GT and Sven and Capello , that eats up quite a few of those 3/4 decades!!

He has made eight appearances at the last two major tournaments, had only seven shots on target and scored zero goals. I would love to see him left at home but it won't happen.

and so he should do , if true , considering the players he has at his disposal and the shyte we play against more often than not

More exciting than Soccer Saturday. It would take ages for our score to come around again and then........................still 0-0!!
