Cardiff City centre-back. Thought he had a good game against Pompy and is rated as one of the best defenders in our league. I think we should put an enquiry in for him in the summer if Jay or Danny were to go.
Why wouldn't he? He use to play for Wycombe, so he would be a lot closer to his family etc. He'd probably be on more money here, with better prospects of Premiership football etc. We're a more attractive opportunity than Cardiff.
Ok then, lets look at the two clubs over the last 10 years. Who has played Premiership football in that time? Who has finished in a higher league position in that time? Cardiff are practically in administration! I rest my case!
Nobody cares about the last 10 years. He would look at the prospects for the next one or two seasons.
To be honest i'm not so sure at the moment - It seems Cardiff have sorted out their money problems (so don't have to sell), they're moving into a new stadium at the start of next season and they have a good group of players. They have a good manager and with a couple of decent strikers i think they could do very well next season/season after - especially if they can hang on to the young players like Ledley (another player it's a shame we never made a bid for...) (I guess the above could be something written about us as well!)
He's great in attack - I would want to be sure I knew what the reason was why Cardiff didn't win many games and be sure it wasn't him. It would take a big fee and mahusive wages right now, so its not looking likely, but in a few years time I wouldn't be surprised.
I can see Cardiff losing Ramsey, Ledley, Parry and a couple of others over the summer, if i'm honest! They didn't get their new ground out of a Christmas cracker...it's going to cost a fair few bob...thus the sale of some players.
Yes, I fully understand that, but don't you think the people that put the money in, i.e. Peter Risdale, will want to re-coup some of the money they've forked out?
