Thanks, I did think that was the case but wanted to check before making the next point, which is, if we genuinely were interested previously is this just a coincidence or is this not really a Manga signing?

 

Back then, just getting news that a player had actually been prepared to sign for us, irrespective of who he was, was fantastic news.

 

I'm sure Manga insisted we sign this guy we had previously scouted, possibly as part of his rule of 11.

 

This summer is going to rival the Roeder summer when the only player we signed was Steve Cherry and Peter Beadle started the first game up top.

But here goes anyway, overheard a club official (not sure who he was but was defo an employee rather than a fan) saying that it was annoying that Healey was at the training ground the day before the forum and it had already leaked within half an hour of him arriving.

 

Sounds like the sort of thing the mole would say to cover their tracks...

I remember a year we were linked with a bunch of no. 9s and got all excited about all of them, only to sign a reserve goalie who was an ex scummer (admittedly he more than redeemed himself).

Was he spotted in training today? I guess the signing won't be official until July 1st, but that doesn't mean he can't train with us (unless of course he is injured!)

 

What's the reason for July 1st? Transfer/registration window is open and he's a free agent.

 

His contract at Toulouse is expiring, so he can't be registered with us until that finishes, which I imagine will be July 1st

 

Correct. In addition, the international transfer window doesn't open until then too, which I presume also delays when we can register his arrival.

 

Yeah and then he scored (debut?) to put us one up at Chelsea ….and maybe the dream escape was going to be on….
