Unless Pep genuinely wants to chuck the game hopefully he lays into them at half time and gets them to raise the tempo a bit.
Solanke has got to be the worst striker in the league. Those two goals against Leicester don't change anything. Stanislas their best player since restart imo. City will win this game with ease. I expect at least one more goal from them.
He tried that already by playing two defenders that he *knows* don't work together. Laporte will be back against us, 100%.
Of course not, but they might. And if they do it would be handy to have a better goal difference, which right now with the score as it is and us to play City is far from guaranteed.
City not playing well but just about doing enough. Hopefully some early second half subs will improve them (ahem,KDB,ahem). Bournemouth can count themselves unlucky. They’ve defended very well and only allowed City one chance in open play, then they’re counter-attacking with numbers, getting balls in the box and looking quite threatening. Could easily be at least level. But that praise for Bournemouth has to be qualified by saying Stones and Otamendi are awful. I hope they’re the centre-back pairing against us.
That’s a bit different from “to give us a chance of being ahead of them going into the final day, though”...
Hopefully Man City turn on a masterclass in the second half and knock in 5 or 6. With a Muff loss tonight, if we win vs Spam that would leave Muff 6 points adrift with two games to go. Psychologically, that's a huge hit; you're basically relying on goal difference after back to back wins to even have a shot at that point.
Nearly got back in to it. That must have been very close to being onside. Come on City for ****s sake
Bournemouth are going to get something here. They’re all over City. we need to learn from this before our game against City.
The way Man city are playing, genuinely looks like they have agreed to fix the game. When have you ever seen Man City play so bad? Just doesn’t happen.
If this is how teams with nothing to play for are approaching games now, then 6 points from our last two games isn’t as absurd as it seems.
City are going to concede from faffing around playing it out from at the back if they're not careful.
It really does look that way. Why else would Guardiola suddenly pick the two CBs we last saw in their Norwich defeat?
Man City in very much 2nd gear. Having looked at our record there up till this season wasn't too bad goal wise. 2x 2-0 defeat, 3-1x 2 (that was after they scored inside 60 seconds!) Plus we actually went 2-0 up in the Cup under Zola I remember!
