I lived in WGC and met a girl from manchester on holiday in Cyprus who I wanted to see again so arranged to drive up to see her when we were playing Bolton figuring that , if things didn't work out , I could watch the match and drive home . She had never been to a match before and after we got a late winner and all ran down the front to celebrate the winner with the players I turned round to see that she had got smashed about in the stampede . Didn't put her off though and she was a lucky charm coming to a few other away matches which we won culminating in the 2-0 Play Off final win over Bolton. 20 years later I'm still in Manchester with 2 kids and mainly get to away matches . Lucky me gets to go to OT and Etihad over the next few weeks . Its sh1t being surrounded by cocky mancs....
Gomes Janmaat, Kabasele, Britos, Masina Cleverley, Quina, Chalobah Success, Gray, Peñaranda Obviously not opposed to Sema playing instead of Gray and pushing him out wide and Success up top. Likewise with Holebas in for Masina because of his suspension. Either way, we have enough quality in this team to win.
Success and Femenia are out, Pereyra and Prodl are training with the squad and may be available (but unlikely to be risked I would say). With that in mind: Gomes Navarro Kabasele Britos Masina Quina Chalobah Cleverley Sema Gray Penaranda
I'm not female. Mollyboo is my Watford supporting, socialist ferret - I merely post on her behalf. She looks quizzical if I type stuff she doesn't agree with and licks my chin if I get it right. I have no interest in football. It's a stupid game.
For me personally, I view QPRse as greater scum than the Scum up the road. Always have done, since the days of that charlatan of a wide boy El Veg, who slagged off WFC at every opportunity. ****ers then. ****ers now. One down from tinpot.
Anybody remember WFC v QPR, at Vicarage Rd: They went 0-1 up, we pulled back and led 2-1 at half-time. Final score 6-1; The almost forgotten Johnny Fairbrother featuring heavily, I recall.
I supported QPR briefly as a kid because I liked their kit, badge and name in the Panini album. I still have a soft spot for them - they are a proper club.
And in fairness, we are closer - geographically speaking - to Loftus Rd than that other place up the M1, so this is a proper derby.
Got me worrying. Which is the closest ground to the Vic? QPR, Brentford, Wycombe? Obviously, not counting London Spurs at Wembley.
Brentford = 11.982 QPR = 12.187 Arsenal = 14.346 Spurs = 14.96 Luton = 16.265 Wycombe = 16.895 (miles)
I can name Parkes, Clements, Francis, Bowles, Marsh, Latchford (?) from when they were good but, & this reflects poorly on me, none of their current players. Separately, surely the White City must have been catnip to Clive in the early 80s. So many reasons for a preview.
Ah. VC, outstanding work in the now forum tradition of precise calculation. Did you measure these out previously on the off chance? Or this evening send teams of acolytes scurrying about with theodolites?
Sorry to disappoint, but google found this site in under a second: https://www.freemaptools.com/how-far-is-it-between.htm
From our visit there at the end of the 2016/17 season I thought the work was taking place to the north of the current stadium (i.e. up the High Road towards the North Circ?)
