It certainly looked that way. Leverkusen had all the play really. Opened us up defensively far too easily. We took our chances bar GD, who should of squared it to the on coming players. Leverkusen spurned some very good opportunities. But to be fair we dug in. Plus the usual mass changes at HT can't be easy for anybody.

 

Fascinating that Javi has recognised that Deeney lacks the pace to be CF & so has put him the wing.

Brilliant that Javi has addressed Deeney’s lack of pace on the wing by putting Hughes at CF.

 

We’ll be taking 5 or 6k m8 so get in quick.

 

I know we lost to Ajax but I felt we were in and around them for most of the game. That away goal could prove priceless come May.

Says he wants to play though. And he won’t. 3 players already in front of him for sure (Gray, Deeney, Deulofeu), another likely to be (Success) and the outside chance of us bringing in another striker.

I’m not sure I take it as he is ‘keen to stay’. I think he would be happy to stay if he’s starting and given games. That is very unlikely. Udinese is most likely his destination given he showed form there.
