They have been playing without a sub keeper on the bench the last few games as Rommain Larriot (sp) has just extended his loan spell at Gillingham. Got to be worth Big Dan going up with McCormick for a challenge early on or Hendo if he is playing and give him a dig
Holloway did, however, admit that he is planning to make wholesale changes for the game after the tough 1-1 draw with Stoke. Although there are no fresh injury concerns, Holloway will be looking to rest people ahead of Sunday's FA Cup quarter final clash with Watford. When asked about new injuries worries, Holloway said: "Not that I know about. I have just got to pick the right team for the game and then we can focus on Sunday, which is obviously in everybody's thoughts. The quicker it is here the better. "I am going to try and pick a team that means I can rest as many as possibly, while keeping in mind that we need to win away at Sheffield. "I still believe I have got a very strong squad and I can make umpteen changes and still have a chance of beating Sheffield Wednesday, which is great news. One definite absentee from the game will be experienced forward Barry Hayles, who is still recovering from a broken toe. "He [Hayles] has no chance for Sheffield Wednesday but he has for Watford." The FA Cup game is naturally in everyone's thoughts at Home Park, but Holloway insisted his team still have an outside chance of making the play-offs. When asked if it was possible for Argyle to close the gap on sixth place, Holloway said: "Of course it is but we need to beat Sheffield Wednesday and I hope to do that with the team I put out there.
The fact that Sinclair was rested makes me think he is going to start on sunday. He has been good for them this season and his pace will likely cause us a few problems.
Just seen the Shef Weds goal on SSN, absolute classic Shef Weds player went to challenge the keeper for a cross, slipped, fell over, as he rolled on the floor, he knocked the keeper's legs over, keeper fell over and Shef Weds scored. Holloway was not amused and the ref claimed he did not see anything:]]
He likes to charge around a lot, but still has a good touch. Up front Ebanks-Blake is highly rated. Quite a few clubs were in for him when he left (i think) Man Utd last summer, allegedly including us.
Sinclair and Ebanks-Blake are decent players. I think we should play Shittu and Demerit centre back to cover for the pace
I am a jay fan. But recent weeks he hasn't quite been at the races. On reflection I would play Dan and Malkay on Sunday.
i think we will see less and less of Malky playing now. he has not played for a couple of games now and I thought he would have played in the reserves game this week to get a bit of fitness if he was going to be considered
You could be right. Jay seems to be back to having lapses in concentration and "switching-off" during recent games. Perhaps Malkay's experience might be better used on Sunday???
Good point but he obviously still trains, the more i think about it the more I am swayed Dan and MM for Sunday.
To be honest I'd have thought at his age playing reserve football is the last thing he needs. The negatives would outweigh the positives. He'll still be in contention come Saturday however, in my opinion.
Malky and Danny are too slow as a partnership. Demerit has to play because he is quicker than the other two. Malky's experience would just edge it for me. Demerit has looked average this season primarily because he is always picking up the "quick" man.
