Alan Smith - Once of Leeds and Man United it still playing for Notts County. He once smashed 4 goals past me in a county game 26 years ago at the old American University in Bushey, he was an amazing striker in those days now a defensive midfielder. He somehow got 17 England caps!

 

Blimey. I remember he was one of those strikers who just never scored, yet rather inexplicably he seemed to somehow hold a half decent reputation as a striker.. no wonder he ended up as a DM.

 

I had to look that one up because I had him confused with Alan Smith of Arsenal and Sky Sports. Would be surprising if he was still playing professionally given that he is 56 this year.
