Absolutely clueless! Agree with Doyley and Williamson, even maybe Ellington if we can get someone better in. So glad you are not managing our club!! Aidy has done wonders for this club, if we bring someone else in we start sliding back to where we have always been.
You have problems. Muff, Ellington, and Williamson are our most technically gifted players!! Boothroyd?! Imagine what will happen if he goes and then you suddenly realise we are a tiny club with a tiny fanbase who should by rights be in League One?!
Aidy needs to get rid of some of the " yes " men that are on the bench behind him. Mackay stands there waving his arms around but whats he actually doing? Our record has been appauling with him as number 2. The thing is, anyone that dares question Mr B seems to leave by " mutual " consent, or, if you have anything between your ears, a golden handshake. We were never going to go up since after Christmas when we were meant to be at our strongest and the mere fact that we scraped the play offs only prolonged the bloody agony.
2 good games from willo and your all bumming him ! so fickle, just like richard lee, at the start you wanted him out, now you think hes captain marvel, well after tonight, you probably hate him again
Williamson always looks good when we play it to his feet as an attacking mid. He is an appalling DM which is why we all hated him when he came. Fickle is when you want to get rid of the manager who is the only reason we aren't in Division Three, and when you boo the Chairman who risked his own money to save the club he supports with unsecured loans, and who appointed said manager. I am the founding member of the Richard Lee fan club too, so up yours matey!
you having a laugh, mate your ****ing crazy, do you have a clue about watford? shittu is a unit and is amazing, demerit is good, boothroyd has done nothing wrong, have we been relagated? (DONT THINK SO!) and Hendo has been out topgoalscorer, no complaints, Williamson is solid in midfield, aggressive, still only young remember! Doyley, without a doubt had one of his best seasons this year. McAnuff just needs more confidence and too bulk up a bit!
I agree, though according to 3 counties the rumour is.. that Derby are after ellington and that shittu could well be on his way out. But then they are just rumours. All these threads about who should go are all acedemic tbh. Since we havent been promoted we now have simpsons plan B to look forwards to and we all know that means cut backs. If those cut backs strecth to the playing staff then aidy might not have a choice on who goes. But for the record I reckon that we should get rid off - Demerit or Shittu - both good players, but the team isnt big enough for bromby, demerit and shittu. Would like to see shittu stay and im not sure how happy demerit is after being messed around with the captaincy. Or both could go if we get in someone of a similar calibre to davenport. Poom - good keeper, but lost confidence and looked shakey. plus he's prob one of the higher earners at the club. Francis - another high earner. We have eustace, wilo and soon williams. surplus to requirements. Doyley - been here since the year dot and no real signs of improvement. His distribution which has always been poor seems to be somehow getting worse. A real nice guy though. Ashikodi - is he still at the club? is he injured or out on loan? just wondering since he hasnt played for the reserves since november. Henderson - dont want him to go, but I dont know how unsettled (if at all) he is at Watford and he did want to leave before the season started. possible casualties of plan B - ellington, macca (both relative high earners at the club, but would still fetch a decent transfer fee). kabba, rinaldi, hoskins (fringe players)
This is our full squad as listed on the "Official site" IDEALLY WE SHOULD OFFLOAD THOSE HIGHLIGHTED IN RED BELOW 1 Mart Poom Goalkeeper 2 Matt Jackson Defender 4 Dan Shittu Defender 5 Mathew Sadler Defender 6 Jay DeMerit Defender 7 Damien Francis Midfielder (Too injury prone) 8 John Eustace Midfielder 10 Darius Henderson Striker (Bring in Lee from Ipswich) 11 Jobi McAnuff Midfielder 12 Lloyd Doyley Defender 13 Scott Loach Goalkeeper 14 Lee Williamson Midfielder 15 Steven Kabba Striker 16 Richard Lee Goalkeeper 17 Tamas Priskin Striker 18 Nathan Ellington Striker(IMHO he will not come good, or at least good enough) 19 Leigh Bromby Defender 20 Alhassan Bangura Midfielder 21 Tommy Smith Midfielder 22 Will Hoskins Striker 23 Adrian Mariappa Defender 24 Malky Mackay Defender(retire him) 25 Gareth Williams Midfielder 26 Toumani Diagouraga Midfielder (To Hereford) 27 Douglas Rinaldi Midfielder (Liked him but Aidy obviously doesn't) 28 Moses Ashikodi Striker 29 Cedric Avinel Defender 30 Junior Osborne Midfielder 32 Theo Robinson Striker 33 Jordan Parkes Defender 34 Alex Campana Midfielder (Has he already gone?) 35 John-Joe O'Toole Midfielder 36 Ewan Clarke Striker (already gone I think?) 37 Kieran Forbes Midfielder (already gone I think?) 38 Liam Henderson Striker 39 Lionel Ainsworth Midfielder 40 Santiago Aloi (only a loan anyway, and as Aidy has never used?)
Ewen Clarke is acadmey got till december. I would get rid of Ashikodi aswell. O'Toole and Bangura out on loan too.
It's all about cost Out will go whoever earns high wages and do not perform - AND is sellable. Aidy WON'T be sacked as that would mean a huge cost to the club - and I for one don't want him to go. Ellington, Francis, Poom, Shittu, Jay and Hendo I believe are our highest earners (who weren't brought in in January). Add to them a flock of also/never-rans in Hoskins, Ashekodi, Kabba, Rinaldi, Avinel, Aloi. Bring in hungry players and get rid of the fat cats.
just out of intrest which post you talking about? and in your 'expert' opinion whats deluded about it?
1 Mart Poom Goalkeeper 2 Matt Jackson Defender 4 Dan Shittu Defender 5 Mathew Sadler Defender - Would prefer someone better, but not top priority 6 Jay DeMerit Defender - Will leave anyway 7 Damien Francis Midfielder (Too injury prone) 8 John Eustace Midfielder - Keep, but we need at least 2 other servicable centre mids. One to partner Eustace and one as cover. 10 Darius Henderson Striker (Bring in Lee from Ipswich) 11 Jobi McAnuff Midfielder 12 Lloyd Doyley Defender 13 Scott Loach Goalkeeper 14 Lee Williamson Midfielder - Squad player 15 Steven Kabba Striker 16 Richard Lee Goalkeeper - Back up to a new no. 1 17 Tamas Priskin Striker - Possible squad player, though I think he'll leave 18 Nathan Ellington Striker(IMHO he will not come good, or at least good enough) 19 Leigh Bromby Defender - Possible squad player - not 1st choice. 20 Alhassan Bangura Midfielder 21 Tommy Smith Midfielder 22 Will Hoskins Striker 23 Adrian Mariappa Defender - Possible squad player 24 Malky Mackay Defender(retire him) 25 Gareth Williams Midfielder 26 Toumani Diagouraga Midfielder (To Hereford) 27 Douglas Rinaldi Midfielder (Liked him but Aidy obviously doesn't) 28 Moses Ashikodi Striker 29 Cedric Avinel Defender 30 Junior Osborne Midfielder 32 Theo Robinson Striker - Possible squad player 33 Jordan Parkes Defender 34 Alex Campana Midfielder (Has he already gone?) 35 John-Joe O'Toole Midfielder 36 Ewan Clarke Striker (already gone I think?) 37 Kieran Forbes Midfielder (already gone I think?) 38 Liam Henderson Striker 39 Lionel Ainsworth Midfielder 40 Santiago Aloi (only a loan anyway, and as Aidy has never used?)__________________ Would ditch the ones in bold. We basically need to rebuild the entire squad, especially the first team.
At all costs McAnuff must stay, he will be POTS next year you wait! Otherwise totally agree and it is very apparent that we have a too big a squad, especialy people likeAvinal, Rinaldi, Parkes etc who will never play for us again as they are considered not good enough. We need to focus on a small squad next season with a couple of valuable additions who would come in the first team. No more squad players sitting on their backsides between the occasional reserve game, the acadmey youngsters like Henderson and Young can do that in an injury crisis
My nephew is young. He's 4 months old. Shall we give him a squad number and pay him a grand a week, even though he can't kick a ball and needs someone to wipe his @rse for him too?
Hes on about the creator of this thread...and what isn't 'deluded' about it?! wanting ... Mcanuff, Shittu, Demerit etc.. out? and bring in kaka & Ferdinand and Terry to replace them yeh?
haha! tbh, i agree with you (about o'toole, not your nephew :]]) He came on against hull at home if i remember rightly, in the second half...and all i remember is him giving the ball away and just doing nothing at all helpfull in anyway. OK he scored a few goals during the mid season, but that doesn't make him a good player, a squad/substitute player at most.
We can wish to get of anyone which is fair enough as we do need to move players but can Aidy manage to replace them? Will the board let Boothroyd spend money and will anyone want certain players anyway!?
Out Worrying about the Premiership Daft fans Going waah!! waah!! we lost!! I hate the world and I'm going to scweam!! Somebody has to lose their job!! And I must call someone a c*nt!! The East Stand The, ahem, 'catering'. Watford Fans calling football phone-ins at any time. Anyone who posts on the Watford Observer website - (Insane in the Membrane)
I dunno, he's no worse than Richard Flash I feel JJOT was over used far too much this season, plenty of energy but he needs more than that if he is to develop. I rememebr when Richard Johnson first played he didn't look that great but he improved over time, and in all seriousness i think O'Toole does have potential to be a good squad player - therefore i'd keep him for now (especially as he's only just signed a new contract anyway...)
Agree with most of them there Moog but why the likes of Dan Shittu, Nathan Ellington, Darius Henderson, Damien Francis? Getting rid of the players you have bolded already, combined with 3 or 4 decent signings whilst keeping the players I've mention above, we will have a very good team.
