If we've got the ball in the 44th minute, I would like to see it booted over the SEJ and all of the players join in.
If we win the title it would be great if Troy and a couple of others could visit Nic with the Trophy and have some photos taken.
Does anyone know what was read out? I read in Troy's programme notes that the players have bought Nic a couple of season tickets for next year. Thats another fantastic gesture and i hope Moo is well enough to use them.
How is he bearing up now? It was a head injury but it seems it's affected his walking as well? It sounds a bit too Roy of the Rovers stuff to be true, but wouldn't it be great if we were awarded a 44th minute penalty in our first home game back in the PL and he was back in the stands with his family to cheer on his beloved 'Orns!
traumatic brain injuries can affect your cognitive abilities and motor skills. this means as well as walking, sufferers might have to re-learn talking properly (my mate in canada has a completely different voice post-accident), writing, maths... basically everything. depending on the severity it can take years to recover properly
sorry if its been mentioned before but does anybody else think that the players were truly motivated by what happened to nic and wanted to stick to their word of promotion?e
I think it did make a difference to the level of focus, maybe only 2-3%, but it fostered a greater sense of determination and togetherness.
Yes because Deeney explained (I can't remember where I read/listened) that what happened to Nic could have happened to his victim a few years ago, and it hit home with him. As Deeney is a proper captain I think it would be fair to say he led the others behind the hashtag, which he had invented.
I didn't see that. But great play to Troy if it's true. Because it is true. His assault could have easily gone another way and he knows it. The important thing is to hold your hands up and admit your mistakes. As nisman94 did on another thread although others were slow to recognise that. Everyone deserves a second chance.
Is there any update on Nics condition ? I hope just because the season is over, Nics family doesn't think we've forgotten about them - I'd love for the club to send him a new shirt with Cruwys 44 on the back
Would be nice to hear how he's doing. Just noticed on his fund that the club donated another £306 from "WFC stadium donations and 50p coach booking fees"
I'm sure there will be a full update from Nic's family when the time is right. I can tell you that he is progressing very well though.
This was on the Not 606 site via Facebook: From Facebook: Just to let you all know I ran in to Nick this morning in Hemel high St. Hadn't seen him since before the incident at Wolves and to see him up and about was great, looking very well and is going to Everton away the start of the season !! COYH ... he was with his mother and father in law and youngest child and although shaking hands he had to think for a moment then remembered my name little emotional !!! Yes as I say he's walking fine looking back to normal weight, his father in law is going to games with him next season so his wife will be happy I'm sure. So some excellent news - great to hear he is out and about.
