I take your point and you may be right insomuch he'll never become the player he had the potential to be.

But it feels you've misread my post a little, thinking I've said he'll 'burst back into form' or that he'd come on 'leaps and bounds'. All I've suggested is, if he stays reasonably fit he'll improve and may start to show his qualities regularly next year.
He looks better physically now than at the start of the season so after investing so much time & resource in his recovery - just had a look, injury was September 2017!! - I'd be disappointed if he went cheaply and we needed to fill another midfield spot.

It feels like we're continually integrating players back from fitness, wanting to leave, differing approaches from head coaches or just new players coming in. A little continuation would be nice now.

I thought Chalobah had to isolate because he lived with Quina, who did attend? I may have imagined this

This was heavily bandied about on here at the time, and frequently enough in the weeks/months afterwards too, but there is not, and never was, any evidence to suggest it whatsoever, and by that I mean even that he lives with Quina. I follow him on Instagram for some reason, and I'm not sure I've ever even seen Quina in one of his stories, let alone living in his house. By contrast, when he was letting Crichlow stay with him during lockdown, he was all over it. There's just nothing to suggest it's real, other than the initial reporting of some bloke on here saying they saw someone on twitter say it once - and if it was true, you'd think it would be in Chalobah's interest to mention it, apart from anything else. As it is, from what I recall he was the only one who didn't even bother to address it at all, let alone apologise (not that I'm particularly desperate for that, if Gray's was anything to go by).

Be lucky to get £5m tops. I'd be delighted with that with only 18 months left on his deal.

Bet Chelsea have a sell-on - we got him cheap at the time.

I’d be content with him going for free if it gets his wages off the books. He’s a write off. I imagine we’ll get something though. Maybe £2m-£3m.

I thought about £7m. Maybe £5m if we can get a good sell-on and bank on Rodgers improving him.

That was b*******. They don’t live together, Chalobah must’ve attended too if he had to isolate. He got away with it though because he didn’t bother apologising, so he just slipped off the radar.

The closest thing was Shakespeare talking about it after the match the three of them were stood down for:

I listened to Jon Ronson's book/podcast about internet pile ons 'So You've Been Publically Shamed.'

A long list of people who screwed up or said the wrong thing and were ruined. The one who wasn't, Max Moseley for having a nazi orgy, because he just fronted it out and never apologised.

Didn't he sue the paper who published it and win because it wasn't actually anything to do with Nazis, too, though?

That’s the way politics works now too. Govt do what they want, kill as many as they like and never say sorry. Don’t give the unthinking public an obvious opportunity to apportion you any blame.

This would be typical Watford, as Chalobah has been pretty much a burden to the club since he suffered his terrible injury.

However, now he is finally showing signs of starting to get back to a bit more like the player he was, we are looking like letting him go, and probably for a knock down price

Every season people say he is starting to show signs of returning to form.

He really isn't. 1 half decent game in 10 isn't good enough.

Inclined to agree to be honest, and his brain is clearly not a good one fundamentally - his decision making is consistently terrible and leaves us in dangerous positions, which isn't classic for a defensive midfielder. As I have said before, he is the Championship Pogba.

I’ve been busy all day, so is this a windup or genuine?

The games are all blurring into one now, but against either Stoke or Millwall he was caught in possession a criminal amount of times, an absolute liability.

He’s good at reactive stuff like getting a block in, but ridiculously ponderous and crippled with indecision if he’s got any sort of time on the ball.

Of this is actually serious then it’s ******* mental

Like it did vs Millwall, you mean? When he did absolutely nothing.

Shoved out on the left for most of the game you mean? And we still played better against Millwall than some of the ***** we served up while Hughes was injured. You need to open your eyes if you would be fine with Hughes going.

Rodgers confirmed earlier that we’re close to signing an attacking player so he surely can’t be referring to this.

Choudhury isn’t a Premier League player. He probably isn’t a Championship player to be honest. He’d be very jammy to get a move to Newcastle. We’ve somehow managed to bin Demarai Gray off to Bayer Leverkusen so I guess that freed up funds to do something.

Chalobah doesn’t seem like the kind of player we need but we’re desperately short of options, especially with the EL coming back in Feb.

Probably should’ve just recalled the lad we’ve got out on loan at L*ton but I don’t think we can now.

You can look at his stats as well in my post in the Gosling thread - he offers less than Chalobah, Cleverley and Gosling.

Thanks (and Hogg-Deeney), he really did butcher his name, not like it is that difficult in this day and age to actually look it up first before sending the message!!!

Chalobah and quina off! Oh happy day!

And the pozzo conveyer belt of ace players will be among shortly to bolster the squad.

    Any minute now.
