People were saying the same thing about Pereyra and Niang. Look what happened there. Just good that we're being linked with these types of players now.
The difference is though: Pereyra - Out of favour at Juventus, whilst not old, he doesn't count as a young talent. A good move for both parties. Niang - Out of favour at Milan, obviously has talent but question marks were raised about consistency Fekir - Started 24 out of 32 games for a 4th placed Lyon, grabbing 6 goals and 4 assists in the process and attracting the attention of Arsenal, Roma etc and is a current French international despite still only being 23 years old..

You say that, but those stats you mention for Lyon aren't really so great. Very, very highly rated, I couldn't ever see this happening. He hasn't anywhere near shamed himself enough to put off the big boys with their idiotically deep pockets. It barely matters if they don't end up making it, as long as they win the race to have them and therefore the chance that they will become what they are supposed to. Also a senior France international.
I was just about to say is Fekir going to be this summers Boufal. We get linked > pan it as improbable > rumours get stronger > we decide he’s going to take us to glory until we sell him for £50m > Then it comes out he has a choice between us and someone else and we declare he’s a useless mercenary until he eventually signs for said club. I know nothing about him but I look forward to getting excited about signing him until it eventually doesn't happen and we all move on with our lives.

I'd be very surprised if we managed to get him, but I'd be delighted about it. Was linked with Arsenal, City, Barca a few seasons ago before his injury and seemed to be one of Lyons best players. Feels impossible but so did the Niang and Pereyra signings before they happened. He tends to get subbed off a lot in the games he starts and start a lot of games on the bench. Not performing as well as before his injury and Lyon have a few attacking options so there could be some legs in this. Hopefully he fancies joining some other young French players at the vic. Bring in him and Imbula Having Niang, Pereyra, Fekir and Success as young attacking players would be deadly.
Perhaps we could persuade him to jump off a roof into a pool, that could mean he takes the plunge and joins us not the big boys (Soton or Bournemouth)
