An interview from September suggests he was on £65k a week, but took a paycut to join Fiorentina as, in his words, 'it's about playing football now'. Seems like the sort of attitude that would make him see us as a good option. Like Udinese, we won't pay the highest wages but we'll give a player an opportunity to prove themselves. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...se-at-Manchester-City-to-join-Fiorentina.html If that's the sort of attitude he has, I'd definitely take him because I really rated him as a player when he was a regular at Man City. He doesn't seem to have played much at Fiorentina though, looking at it. Anyone know why?
It's a load of old bull, and would be very expensive wages-wise if it were somehow to actually happen, but he would be a f**king great signing if he did come here.
We've just signed some Lithuanian bloke and people think we'll see Richards and Flamini arrive this summer...
Edgaras Jankauskas was Lithuanian, have some ****ing respect. Also, haven't seen a single post expecting either of those players to sign for us.
Didn't we do this a few years back and proved the theory to be true? I rather a Pozzo unknown than Micah Richards.
I think he'd be a perfect signing for us, however... Even if we were a viable option in his eyes we'd have to offer more in wages than any other club that's in for him, or at least match the best other offer. Possible but not likely IMO.
I'm dubious about this but would be very good signing and at 26 has loads of Prem experience. He would need to take a hefty pay cut but will be pretty much guaranteed to play for us and our proximity to London may appeal to him. I can dream.
I would rather have Micah Hyde, premiership experience, has established terrace chant and more International caps than Richards
In terms of what we do, Richards is perfect. Can play full back or wing back. Gets up and down well. Strong, athletic. Experienced, but young enough to have some potential resale value. It is just a question of what he wants vs what we'd offer. I daresay, he's better than Paredes.

Four year contract and 65k a week for a player who has barely played in the last four years. Huge risk at that price. I think he could still be good and I would have liked him here, but I'd have had him at half what Villa are offering, at a push.
Villa fans already sick and tired of him - apparently he never shuts up about what a great club Man City are and was hugely instrumental in Delph's handbrake turn.
Good, and hopefully they sell Benteke too. Not that I dislike villa, but they're potentially a relegation rival so the weaker they are the better.
They are so ****ed. All their Premier League players are gone, and Tim Sherwood really isn't a manager for a rainy day.
