Liam Neeson's career finished?

So basically you were supportive when he had racist tendencies and less supportive now he doesn't?

Shows how people twist actual things that happened to suit their narrative. Social media will allow a whole group of people to support each other in denouncing LN for things they have decided he said, or meant, even if he didn't and inflame each other in doing so.

What actually happened or was said is of secondary importance.

 

What he did was racist, however many years ago. Bringing up that he went out looking for any person with dark skin to kill is not just horrible, it is incredibly tone deaf given the history of racial violence in America.

I get that people might say: Okay, so he's admitted to doing something racist - he hardly deserves a medal.

But personally, I think we can learn more from someone who has been racist but speaks openly about how they were wrong and how they've changed their views; than we can from racists that are forced to pretend it never happened.

To me, he sounds like a man who has had a lot of therapy and has come out of it a better person. An imperfect one with a dark past. But one who knows he was wrong and wants to make it right. In some ways, that should be applauded.

 

I admit my initial response was wrong. I only read the comments not the historical context in which they were made and the point he was making.

His recent films are still **** though.
