Fessi was shattered when he was replaced, but I would rather he had stayed on.

But I have no doubt that if that substitution not been made, and we still conceded the goal, there would have been a load of moaning that we should have.

Not saying his marking is wonderful, but on this occasion, I'm not sure it's his job to pick up midfielders who arrive late in the box. Somebody in our midfield didn't track their runner properly. That said, he could have got out quicker to make a block, which is another criticism I've seen thrown at him by those who have seen him play a lot more than me.

You re right . I've seen a different angle on HP and it was toszer who was supposed to be marking James. Also as someone else pointed out battochio went chasing when he should have marked .

Still prefer Hall as the middle CB whilst Angella learns more about the Championship .

What's to learn? Defending is defending wherever you ply your trade.

I really think you should take the quality of the opposition into account Malteser; Man City, N Forest and Leicester City, all away, are quite a handful for any Championship side, let alone one that was very low in confidence when Sannino took over!

I am fairly confident that when we start playing teams that are not flying as high as the three I have already mentioned, we will start winning those games, and when we have got our "mojo" back, I can see us beating the high flying teams too!

27 pages?! Sod reading all that.

The match was a match. What I'm more intrigued about is reports from the media, including the bbc, on the way we set up our team "to nullify Leicester's attacking threat, using three centre-backs and packing the midfield with five players."

Now forgve me if I am wrong, and it has already been picked up on but isn't this how we have been playing for the majority of games for the last season and a half?

Stop with the argument that we took off a striker and brought on a defender. We put Anya further forward to use his pace to try and counter and take off the pressure, rather than Fessi's skill. It was a good move considering how exhausted FF was.

    Leicester fan in peace.

Though I would give you my two pennies worth.

Although it wasn't high quality game, there was plenty of action nonetheless.

First half i thought you guys were good, you chased and closed us down very well but still looked to get forward when you could. Without really troubling us you deservedly lead at the break.

Second half you went too negative too quickly, it was immediate after half time. Must have been your managers decision at half time to basically say to your midfield just sit back allow them to have the ball as much as they like. Which did work to a degree however this meant that we could switch the ball from left to right quite easily which i think wore you midfield out and probably why Drinkwater had enough time to shot just outside the box.

I think maybe because your quite low on confidence or maybe it was your manager (Your style definitely reminded me of an Italian teams tactics) but it was a much more defensive display then I expected as it seemed as though you where a team battling against relegation. Straight after half time you where really trying to slow down the game by play acting etc which i suppose does work but the ref did add on a fair amount of time. I think that he even added on some extra in added time due to this and it could have cost you the 3 points in the end as we did have a good chance to score a third at the end.

Different circumstance granted but you cant have a hatred for Knockaert with your teams antics. I know every team does this including ourselves but you where worse then I've seen in a while for this. Players diving in the penalty box in extra time of the biggest match of the season is much more forgivable then diving around holding your face in the middle of the pitch in the 46 nd minute of a game which lets face wasn't that important to the both us in comparison to the play offs this season.

Overall I thought you deserved a point and played well and we where not at our best (probably more down to yourselves then our players have off days).

Technically you are clearly better then your position so I think you will make a late push for play offs. If you don't go too negative too quickly although granted this may be out of respect for our form and position.

Good Luck for the rest of the season.

Haha I mean it too. Generally have good memories of Watford, mainly becuase we always seemed to play well at home against you and score 4.

I have good memories of Leicester too....mainly because we always seem to knock you out of playoff semi finals.

Trust me mate, the play acting by some of our own players is highly embarrassing to us as well.
If you think this was our biggest match of the season then you'll be disappointed to know that it wasn't, by a long way.

So it's not just us who notice this. I think Sannino still needs to appreciate that we cannot sit back at 2-0. Teams get us when we do.

Oh i know it wasn't your biggest match of the season. It was a nothing match in many ways for the both of us. Well i suppose we did want to win 10 in a row but nothing in the sense that win draw or defeat is only a couple about 2% of the season.

I did expect the play acting as you where winning but just surprised me how often and early you resulted to this.

I think if its away against top of the table who have just won 9 on the trot its forgivable but against most teams it was much to negative.

It probably meant a lot more to you than it did to us, buddy. We had nothing to lose going into this game, you were on the quest for 10 unbeaten. Also, as for the play acting, I can't comment as I haven't seen the supposed incidents, but going on previous encounters between the 2 teams, are you sure?

  18. If forestieri was knacked, replace like for like, give them an out. Ranegie maybe. Take off an attacking mid for Fitz Hall.

For general time wasting you were much worse then i have seen from ourselves in a long time.

I'm not saying we are saints because we are not.

Vardy has won us many penalties this season as he goes down very easily (plus he weighs about as much as small child). Burnley and QPR fans will tell you we are a bunch of divers so I'm not going to argue we are model professionals.

Because I only had the radio (Hornet's Player: 3 counties radio, which isn't particularly biased) to go by and the Shoutbox we use on the Forum, it doesn't sound as if we really did. Of course, this could be down to natural bias and that we don't notice this.

Of course you don't notice when your own team is time wasting. It is only when you are chasing the game it becomes a factor. Obviously Leicester were chasing this game right up until the 94th minute so they'll see that. Our issue is inviting teams to chase us without killing the game off. Sannino has the right idea to try and kill the game by bringing on more defensive players but the way he does if isn't always the right way. We still need to have that attacking threat. As much as Forestieri was shattered, bringing on a defender in his place isn't right at 2-1, maybe 2-0 but not 2-1, it just invites their defence to push up.

Exactly, this whole time wasting debate, whilst amusing sometimes, is a total waste of time as all teams do it these days!

Its called 'managing out the game', I don't like it much but it is part and parcel of the game today.

Same with diving really, I mean what hope is there when in one session the likes of doc Savage say 'he's dived, he's cheated' and then contradict themselves a moment later with 'if the striker feels a contact he's entitled to go down' (not talking about a specific case here but you know what I mean) :]]

Time wasting, diving, pushing and shoving in the box at set pieces, rolling about and then getting back up and running to get a ball, constant complaining and barracking the ref it goes on in every game throughout the land and its ****e!

Having said that I don't think any team is particularly worse than any other at this and until the 'powers that be' do something courageous to stop it it will go on!

A tired striker isn't that much use, so a defender in this case was a good idea. I do think though he should have done more to help the attack so that we could push them back.

I personally would have switched your formation perhaps to 451 and then given the midfielders the licence to get forward in reasonable numbers. You could have still sat back as that does work against us, but just tried to get more of the ball in the midfield.

We had Ranegie on the bench. Chuck him on with Deeney and you have 2 players that can hold the ball up really well up the other end of the pitch. Drop Pudil to left back and Cassetti to right back with Angella and Ekstrand in the middle. Anya on the left, Murray on the right and Battocchio and Toszer in the middle. With hindsight it looks simple.

I noticed the time wasting, and it was probably the worst we have done it all season. But other teams have been way worse against us.

A couple of teams have started time wasting against us after less than half an hour in.

Don’t like to see it, but it is up to the FA to do something about it. Something like a rule where a player has to be off the pitch for at least as long as he is on the ground, unless the referee sees a particularly bad tackle (maybe it has to be a yellow/red card tackle), might help.

It could easily be dressed up as 'for the players safety', considering a player who goes down for two minutes probably needs a couple of minutes to recover from his undoubtedly savage injuries. This is the only way to stop the diving players team gaining an advantage from the breakup of play and the disruption of momentum.

Surely it'd be better if the referee just allowed play to continue on around them unless he'd seen a particularly bad tackle? Once they've cost their team a goal by playing the opposition team onside while rolling around the floor they might do something different in future.
