listening to five live phone in on the way home and they have dissgraced themselves ipswich fans where saying they where hit with bottles and coins and a lot of families where there not only did they invade the pitch but they also took it out on the ipswich fans its not thier fault they went down.
Leeds will be twice as worse next year. i can still think back to their late 1980,s early 1990's spell,in the lower leagues. you aint seen anything yet.
Im on my other website I post on and this is what a leeds fan had to say... Am absolutely devastated, the team took the lead and as always allowed Ipswich back into the game. Our idiot fans that had the match stopped when we had a corner, you're ******s. I saw Ipswich fans at the end of the game absolutely petrified for their safety, they're a fooking family club and our thugs wanted to kick off with 'em. We can now expect a huge fine as their goalkeeper, a couple of their players and a linesman were attacked. Coins were been hurled at women with kids, are we going back into the fooking dark ages
Too true. The attitude by a minority in Cardiff last year summed them up. Nothing like bad loosers, at least we loose with a smile and a slight moan. Also Kevin Blackwell can now add relegated two clubs in the same season to his CV now
A bit unfair on Blackwell though, he was sacked after only 7 games (they were two points behind Derby who didn't start the season much better), his predecessor Dennis Wise had plenty of games to get them out of trouble but failed. You could say he took L*t*n down but he joined a sinking ship - I'm not saying they'll bounce back up but they might do fairly well under him next season even if recent form suggests they'll do well to avoid another relegation.
I actually saw some nice leeds fans on the train home that had left 5 minutes before the end so missed the pitch invasion. I actually felt sorry for them (unlike most other Leeds fans I’ve had the displeasure to encounter) because they knew the football world would be laughing at them. It must have rubbed salt into the wound, me sitting next to them both in my Watford top reminding them of the play-off final!
I have always though 90% of leeds fans are alright but they seem to have those few, like Cardif, Millwall etc who are just animals. Will be interesting to see who Master Bates blames this time, I am sure it will be the previous regime and not him or the man he employed as manager without even interviewing.
Another event to add to the already lengthy list of why nobody likes Leeds. I'm delighted there's no trip to ******* rd in the offing for next season.
Shame Southend went down as well. No bank holiday trip to there next season. Just got to hope Blackpool go up. Could Leeds be given a points deduction then for today's antic? I hope so, anything that hinders them going back up will be good for me (apart from a loss at Luton of course)
I actually met some nice guys at the Cardiff, some prats too of course but I feel sad for them, a city like Leeds deserves better.
I was looking forward to a May Bank Holiday in Southend as well. Hopefully we will still get a nice warm weekend up in Blackpool (or at least not windy so the 'big one' is still open!)
I met quite a few Leeds fans after the game in Cardiff last year and they were all desperate to shed the image that their fans were bad. After yesterday it's hard to defend the so called minority. Looked like a hell of a minority to me.
Their is plenty of clips now on U-Tube. To be fair to the majority of leeds fans you could hear them singing songs to the pitch invaders. "Time to go,dont come back" and "Your the Sh!t of Elland Road" and also being Booed by the people in the crowd. Its always the minority that give the rest a bad name. For those that went to Cardiff you will know that the Leeds fans were excellent and no trouble at all from what I saw. Most of the idiots that invaded the pitch didnt know what to do,they thought it was fun just being on a pitch running around and waving their arms about.
What a bunch of clowns, they just stood there with fans streaming past them onto the pitch - mind you, if I was paid £5.50 an hour to do their job I'd just let them past too
All I can say about Leeds United is: ha ha ha ha ha! I wish i was still working in Leeds, after all the crap my workmates gave me before we beat them in the playoff final, I'd be crying with laughter at them now. In fact they'd probably kill me but I'd still be laughing as I was dying!
