King to Fulham...Jason Roberts in?

Interesting - Aidy attempting to re-create the magic strike partnership of Wigan obviously? I hope it isn't true though i feel we need to keep King. Though Roberts has done a good job when i've seen him come on as sub for Blackburn this season and he does have experience and strength

 

If true, I would not say no to that. But would Roberts come to us?

If we could get Roberts that would dampen the blow of losing King quite a lot. Roberts is quite proven in the Premiership and from what I've season looks physically quicker and stronger than King at the moment.

I'd be surprised if he came to us instead of someone else though.

 

The only way that Prem standard players will join us is with a get out clause that if we are not promoted they can leave. Similar to what Collins John wanted last season.

i met Jason Roberts a few times come's across as a good bloke, and i tell you one thing he is VERY good friends with Ellington.

If we got say, £8-10m for King, and then brought in Jason Roberts for £2-3m, I would be a very happy bunny.

We could then use that money to buy some DECENT ****ING CENTRE MIDS.

I remember the 3-3 game at Vicarage Road a few years back...I think it was 00/01?! Mooney scored two for us and I think the other was an OG? I remember one of Mooney's goals being a quality chip/lob over Hoult (think it was Hoult then?).

Roberts and Lee 'Murderer' Hughes ruined us in the second half of that game, I think Roberts got two and Hughes the other. Good game and Roberts is a tricky customer! I would be very happy if he came here in January.

On BBC gossip they say Blackburn rates Roberts at 4 mio.

 

King out for £10m+

Roberts in for £4m

£6m+ transfer budget for Centre Mid, Centre Half and Left Back = Immense Squad

Not that I want King to leave of course, its just that is the only circumstance under which I will allow it.

If Marlon was to go anywhere I would want it to be Villa. Good manager and I feel he would really suit the way they play

He isn't worth more than 5 mil, and if we got offered that theres no doubt in my mind we'd take it.

Jason Roberts was on Watford's books as a junior; he used to play for Parkfield (based in Harrow) with a mate of mine who was also on Watford's books until a serious knee injury (from rugby!) brought the curtain down on his fledgling football career.
Mate says Roberts was a good player with questionable attitude as a teenager but got a wake-up call and turned things round.

 

Roberts did play for Parkfield Youth as did Darren Ward, Mariappa to name a few. Roberts was on the WFC books and following the injury signed a pro contract with Hayes FC.

Although he would be a fantastic singing for us, let's not get carried away with the local family conection. DJ Campbell's family live locally and he wouldn't sign for us and he is only half the player Roberts is.

Nice thought though and would love to be proved wrong even at the expense of losing King
