"If ever meet one I will step on its protruding nasal implement until it couldn't suck up an insect if its life depended on it!" I'm always genuinely sad at the end of that episode when he finds out what happened to his novel
Agreed both Forest and the Villa fans are pretty complimentary tbh. Didn't realise he's 6-3. It's good to see him just purely smash defenders out of the way. Hope he has a debut as good as Hamza did. **** WTE off to Turkey and bring in Greaves, Liverpool's CB and a set piece specialist and were looking in good shape.
Davis signed a 4 year contract 2 years ago, so 2 years left (hasnt signed anything since that contract).
he had/has two catches. catch 1 - historically injury prone (although did manage 18/24 games for Forest last season (injured for 6). catch 2 - goal scoring, its a bit of a Villa meme that if he scored regularly, he would be a complete forward, as he is so well rounded as a player apart from the goals. Obviously, goals are probably the most important part, so that was always his main issue, however, fingers crossed he will do well for you, as at Forest last season he scored on avg 1 goal every 2.5 games, and provided a goal contribution (goal/assist), 1 in every 1.8 games. If you can keep him fit, and get him scoring/providing like he did at Forest, you will have a very good player on your hands. One thing i will say for Davis though, even if he isnt scoring, you can guarantee he will lead the line well, run the opposition ragged and bully them, while also doing his best to bring players in to the game and be a good hold up player.
Sounds like a decent prospect. With the arm around the shoulder approach and some good coaching, maybe we have acquired a gem.
"What I want you to do, Keinan, is to carrying on doing all the things you've been doing so well , but with one small additional detail, and listen to this because it is actually quite important.....I want you to start scoring some goals"
I think it was part of the deal, a bit like we shipped JPs mum and dad over from Brazil to help him settle.
Pretty much all major publications saying that Hause and Archer would have both been loans (fingers crossed still happen) - this wouldn't have been allowed if Davis on loan. Combined with his statement saying goodbye to Villa this one is still really weird.
Do we know if he's injured, not yet match fit, or still going through our standard 3 month initiation process (which Choudhury managed to avoid) ?
Even though he was back for their training, he didn't play a single minute of Villa's pre-season matches, so it's likely match fitness.
Can't find it now but there was something from one of the more official sources saying we basically need to get him up to speed as he had a very limited pre-season and Edwards doesn't want to compromise the long-term by throwing him in straight away.
A bit baffled why he was a) in the squad and b) got 5 mins at Brum, only for him to be taken out of the squad for Preston, what good did that 5 mins do? Hope he's involved in some way against MK, is it too hopeful to suggest he'll start at the weekend?
Give him a taster/reminder? Considering he has had zero minutes on the pitch for a while it could still have some benefit. Why do clubs not give players full games in pre-season friendlies? Regardless it was clear even from the 5 minutes that he wasn't up to speed yet.
I’d be very surprised if he was involved tomorrow. Rob said it was a mistake giving him even those 5 minutes at St Andrews. He’s clearly quite a way off match fitness and if he couldn’t even make the bench at Preston, he’s hardly going to have improved his fitness much in 72 hours.
Tomorrow’s basically a friendly. Needs to be getting 10-15 mins at the end, even if he’s nowhere near fit enough to start.
