Hmmm not too sure about this....he has scored goals in the ccc but we now have Hoskins Henderson Priskin Ashikodi Kabba King as strikers Is 6 too many considering Bouazza can play up front too. Should we have spent the money on a CB? (assuming we are not already trying to do this)
Kabba can play right wing also and will provide cover for Smith. I don't see him as a massive improvement from what we have, but something different. He's quick and strong - could be good at chasing don't Hendo knock-downs.
Tell him to show a bit more respect to `the old man`;D He could be talking about our leading marksman this season
Well at least we have some strikers now and he is another who might do well at Championship level which is probably where we are heading. As always with a new player will give Kabba a chance to settle and prove himself in a Watford shirt. Has more experience than the likes of Moses and Hoskins and at least he wanted to come unlike Mr Collins John. This Mohamed Kallon bloke we have also been linked to sounds excellent though if we can get him from Monaco.
or waste 750k on sam parkin last season, which means we may not have got marlon, hendo and promotion. 500k is a good price for next seasons fizzy pop campaign, we will come back up as champions.
Of those 6 where'd you rate him? 1 King 2 Hoskins 3 Kabba 4 Henderson 5 Ashikodi 6 Priskin Not a definitive list because some players blow hot and cold!!
He's gonna be wearing Ash's old number. How many people at the match tomorrow will have KABBA 15 on the back?
When i first heard this i was a little disapointed However, now after reviewing the situation, i have changed my mind. Hes only 25 (i was convinced he was older) is very strong, fast and can score. I think he will be a very good purchase ( next season we will rip defenses apart- king kabba hoskins >) Good buy imo.
Question is, who forked out the money to have 'YOUNG - 15' on their backs. That's the reason why I always have my name on the back of my shirts.
Check this out, read into it what you will! Warnock defends Kabba sale 26/01/2007 - 3:49:37 PM Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock has defended his decision to allow Steve Kabba to join relegation rivals Watford but admitted that the striker can be “as good as anyone in the Premiership”. Kabba had slipped down the pecking order at Bramall Lane following the arrivals of Jon Stead and Luton Shelton and joined Adrian Boothroyd’s side for a fee which could rise to £750,000 (€1.1m). Warnock revealed that he had received bids from several Championship clubs for the striker but felt that they were way short of his valuation. He said: “I just felt it was a realistic offer from Watford. The deal means that we are going to get up to £750,000 (€1.1m). “I don’t see the logic of losing £400,000 (€606,600) by selling him to a Championship club. If Watford finish fifth from bottom and Kabba scores 25 goals then yes, it will be a mistake but we’ve let him go for the right reasons. “He hasn’t been able to get a consistency level. On his day he’s as good as anyone in the Premiership “He’s had three horrific injuries which is unlucky and I think it caught up on him. “He gets frustrated easily and the last six months not playing has done his head in. “But like everyone who has left now he has played a part in getting us to the Premiership.”
Wigan have brought a League One striker for the same amount: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/wigan_athletic/6302089.stm
Well it sounds like he should be hungry and raring to go. Like King, he's got a proven scoring record in the Championship but has had some recent, frustrating set-backs. Wasn't King also 25 when we signed him?
I know people will think because he couldn't get in the sheffield united team he is rubbish., but I think he will be a really good signing for us. Watch this space....
Some of the Blades fans feel a bit disappointed actually and we all know Neil changes his strikers every 6 months.
Panic/average signing, shall give him a chance but i'm pretty certain he was quite far down on the list of the strikers we wanted.
he will suit our style of play however - give him a chance, he only cost us what they bought webber of the investors for.
I think he may have been 2nd or 3rd choice to others. I'm willing to give him a chance but I'm struggling to be inspired by this signing.
