There was no one to pass to in the middle so he checked back. It wasn't a great turnover from our perspective but Holebas and Cathcart are much more responsible for the resultant goal.
Seriously. Jurado lost the ball midway in their half. He was responsible for turning over possession, but it's hardly his fault the rest of the team let Chelsea walk through us unchallenged.
Also a foul, as he checks back he falls backwards as if pushed or having his shirt tugged from behind. Also the goal itself is offside. If anyone make the mistake it's Nyom (and maybe Cathcart) Nyom is right with Costa through the whole of the move then at the last minute just stops instead of following Costa as he accelerates.
How is this 'no strings attached'? You can call me childish if you want, however you are intellectually dishonest and my 'childishness' is holding you accountable as your own words betray you - in the same sodding sentence.
It wasn't so much a mistake on Jurado's part. He was just trying to protect the ball. It was very canny play from Ivanovic, who read it incredibly well and no doubt had a quick tug on his shirt to make sure he ended up with the ball. It's a shame that he has his performances deconstructed every week, because I feel it gives a distorted view of his quality. The Paredes Effect.
Having looked at it, I think a 'match fit' Holebas or Ake would have closed down Willian sooner rather than giving him time to pick the pass.
You're screwing up the context again. Read my post properly and refer to the match thread. I have no idea what you're talking about. How have I betrayed myself? I've explained my feelings about Jurado pretty comprehensively, I don't see how I'm being "intellectually dishonest."
I'd be liable to agree, but unfortunately he happens to have been the weakest link in a very successful team. The same has happened for Paredes, Anya and Holebas to name a few. It's magnified when we have some talent eagerly waiting in the wings for their chance. It's just the nature of success.
Jurado was fĂșcking awesome. He was pressed to hell and he kept the ball well and made excellent moves.
Agreed - would like to see a bit more grit in the tackle from him, but apart from that excellent and was a shame when he had to go off. Getting better and better each game.
Not according to multiple people around me who shouted out pearls of wisdom like: -"**** off Jurado you ****!" -"Run Jurado you ****ing *****!" -"Take that **** off Quique!" Pretty embarrassing and had me cringing.
A Watford friend of mine and me were messaging during the match. him: misplaced pass from Jurado there me: none of us can deal with their pressing tbh *5 minutes pass* him: yet another misplaced pass from Jurado (at the time): Only Ighalo has a higher pass accuracy so far & Ighalo has attempted 8 passes, Jurado has attempted 30 him: don't care, he's **** People only see what they want to see.
Also interesting to see that despite Behrami coming on at HT, he didn't complete a single successful pass, where's the abuse for him?!
Behrami looks nothing like the player who started the season for us. Hopefully it's just rustiness and being shoved out wide but he's well off the pace. Spurs players were walking past him while he was charging around. Maybe the rumours of him wanting out are true?
As a New Years gift to you all, I give you this: He's magic, You knoooooow, Jose Manuel Jurado! [Repeat]
Throw-away, packaged, rubbish pop music in the 1970s was so much batter than the throw-away, packaged, rubbish pop music of today
It's been sung since the start of the season mate. Just slightly different lyrics- He's magic, you know, that boy from Madrid, Jurado
