https://mobile.twitter.com/the_1881_club/status/1286394760538787841 Posted on his Instagram account. Goodbye! Edit: that’s one deadwood out. Keep going Gino. Just Mapps, Cleverley, Janmaat, Success, Gray, Navarro and Pereyra. I would keep Deeney as an impact sub only.
About the only good thing he did. Good riddance. Terrible attitude and never wanted to be here in the first place.
Came eventually.. Hardly played at first. Poor discipline under Silva. Best spell under Javi. Then got injured.
Is it controversial that I liked him? He showed more passion that most of them, even if sometimes he didn’t direct it properly.
I love a player with attitude, Jose had plenty of that One of my favourite players over the last few seasons Not the greatest defender but one of the best full backs going forwards and one of the best crossers of a ball in our side, Sarr and Kiko could have learned a few things Good luck to him whatever he does next, for me it's genuinely been a pleasure watching his aggression and tantrums but always with 100% effort
Never liked him. A bad apple, whatever his footballing ability. It's hard to believe that I still cling on to some remnants of the antiquated juvenile belief that the players all lurve the club and take pride in the shirt and all. But when they make a fuss about coming in the first place and then picks fights with our fans, right in front of my lad who I've taken to a game as a birthday treat and who I'm trying to convince to be an honest and decent hornet, then I'm glad to see the back of the greasy haired facka and his spivvy little 'tache.
An enjoyable player to watch, luckily, more often than not. Had a couple of real purple patches in terms of picking up some assists and putting in a good shift down the left, but sadly hampered too often by injuries and his attitude too. Clearly wasn’t at the forefront of Pearson’s thinking, and may not have wanted to join us initially anyway... but I’ll never complain if a player cares or at least looks like they care. Holebas was one that did, and several of the others should take note.
I like Holebas but, I am glad to see him leave and hope this is the start of the deadwood leaving the club. Good luck Jose I wish you all the best but I am hoping to see a few more similar threads.
Just to be cautious, this doesn’t confirm anything. He could have a knock and just been given the go ahead to go back to a country for a few weeks that he’s lived in before. Given out ability to dish out 1 year deals time and time again for these players, I won’t believe he’s gone until it’s confirmed.
I liked him. But as always Pozzo keeps a veteran player no longer fit for purpose and leaves us with only Masina as a credible left back option. Our squad management and anticipation are clueless.
Don't mistake his passion and commitment for desire to work for the team. He was always arguing with his own team mates, tracked back like a sloth and was guilty of more dodgy penalties and red cards than anyone else I can think of in Watfords history. Couldn't even be bothered to say goodbye or hang around to support the team on Sunday. Maybe he was the player Nige had a fight with. I hope Nige got a few in on the poisonous little toad!
I totally agree with you La tempesta. It has always amazed me that Robbo was so loved by most people on here, but that Holebas was equally despised by many of those same people, because IMO they were two players very much cut from the same cloth who always gave 110% for the team.
Sort of. Although Robbo was actually passionate about playing for Watford. I think Holebas was just passionate about winning.
Agree with this, Holebas was probably my favourite Watford player for a while. He was an absolute nutcase and played with an intensity very much lacking from many in our current side. The kind of s***house player you were thankful was playing for you and knew that you'd have loathed if they were on the opposition's team.
Erm, he only ever had one red card for us in the PL (plus one in the League Cup). By contrast, Britos had three red cards in the PL over the same period (and one in the League Cup). Deeney has also had two for us in the PL during the same time.
I thought life was always a bit more fun was José was around. He had personality at least. We can’t say that for all of the signings of the Pozzo era, many of who have just faded away after a handful of unremarkable cameo appearances. Wish him well for his future. And like many others, I feel it’s the right decision for all parties.
It maybe a stupid question but unless he is injured, why the hell has he been allowed to leave before the last match and when he is still contracted to the club?
Yes. Which set him apart from most of the other players he played with. They couldn't care less about either.
So the man is loyal to whatever team he is playing for which was us and puts in 100% shift for what he is paid to do........... WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT AT LEAST HE GIVES A DAMN AND DOES HIS JOB Which is more than you can say for most of our bunch of losers
