Anyone know how he is playing at Barnet?

I expect he will be in consideration for the 1st team squad next season with Stewart going.

If people think Parkes is the answer they're desperately wrong.

By all accounts he's rubbish. He had a decent game against Accrington in the CC last season, but that was more a case of him being the best of a bad bunch.

He's millions of times worse than both Sadler and Stewart.

Couple of comments from the Barnet fans (sounds exactly like the sort of player Aidy would not want...pass the ball well but weak)

"He's good going forward and in distributing the ball, which he can do with both feet equally well which is a rare skill however his defensive work has been questionable - he's a good header of the ball despite his small stature but can look a bit weak at times"

"He will need more time to physically develop before reaching Watford's 1st team but the quality is certainly there."

"He has shown all the good attributes of a decent midfielder but as a right back, where he has been playing, he has had mixed fortunes. His distribution, with both feet, is excellent and he reads the game very well. He is calm and unflustered when on the ball. What I have noticed is that he gets beaten for pace occasionally when a winger runs at him, he seems to offer too much space and doesn't have the pace to react - but overall, I think most of us would agree that he has done a more than sufficient job for us, his performances have generally been very pleasing. I somehow think though that right back might not be his best position and that he would be better in central midfield - he would need to build up some more body strength though"

He's only 18, he'll fill out over the next coule of years

Lack of pack won't help him in the modern game. Although Sadler isn't blisterinly quick

I find the Barnet fans' comments rather encouraging. Skill and composure is a lot harder to get than bulk.

He's 18 as mentioned so far from developed - but the games he's getting at Barnet and whatever he may get next season will be well invested in a talented player. I'm not saying he's the answer now - but it seems he has what it takes to become a first team player for us.

A midfielder that can pass the ball? No wonder Aidys got him playing at right back

    JORDAN ENTERS AIDYS OFFICE.

Aidy "Can I help you son?"

Jordan "Boss ive been thinking, ive always played in midfield AND i can pass the ball well and with both feet.. do i really need to play in defence"

Aidy "Now now son, Im the boss and I know best. You are a RIGHT BACK. Say it. Go on. Remember you can be anything you want to be. You must think positively."

Jordan "Well I want to be a midfielder!"

Aidy "No you dont son. I know deep down what you REALLY want. Now repeat after me.... I WILL NOT PASS THE BALL ALONG THE FLOOR TO A YELLOW SHIRT"

Jordan "Any chance I could go on loan then?"

Aidy "I'll call you a cab... could you send Douglas in please on your wait out"

Thats probley very accurate, its probley happend before with other players who could move into stronger positions. Also, the thing about 'you will not pass it across the ground' is probley spot on.

One of my mates is one of the head stewards now at Barnet and so I have seen a couple of games recently instead of going Watford away as he gets me in free. In both games I have seen Barnet have won very easily and Parkes has played well, and like the comments have said, he is very neat and tidy on the ball but lacks any physical presence, gets beaten for pace a fair bit, and teams look to put the long ball over the top against him or beat him in the air. He lacks a certain something to make it as a champinship player, much more a right back for league 1 or 2, defintely not a left back either! Woth keeping for another year perhaps or even a season long loan back at Barnet but very unlikey to be a first team player for us I am afraid.
