Joao Mario has turned down a loan move to West Ham, according to Sky Italy.

 

Sky are now saying he may be open to a move to London after all, with West Ham still in for him.

 

Not a big fan of Rodwell, didn't he have some ludicrous stat like not playing in a winning Sunderland side for his first 50 appearances or something daft. However, I understand that he has said that money is not the important issue but has doesn't want to take up the club offer to cancel his £70pw contract without another offer, effectively agree to make himself unemployed with no income. Sure he could stand that situation better than most but frankly I don't blame him. If however he gets an offer of half the wages to play regularly elsewhere and turns it down then he is a lying feck.

Looked very good in the Euro's for Portugal. Looks an expensive deal and I'm sure we wouldn't be first in the queue - But if he plays wide, I would love us to get him. Especially considering I expect Carrillo's focus may well dwindle now.

 

Signing players who don’t really want to be here is rarely a good bet , even if they are decent . Especially as we may be in a relegation scrap by the end of the month

 

I'd imagine 75% of the players we've signed over the last 3 years have needed convincing to come here.

 

11 teams in the Prem are in danger of relegation, so anybody not absolutely tops risks that by coming to the Prem. Though as others have pointed out, if your club goes down you move on, no harm done.
