Looks like their captain is coming to us on loan. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/11724613._/
English? Check. Championship experience? Check. Leadership qualities? Check. Will this be enough for some people on here crying out for the above, probably not.
"Wanderers will divert all their funds into finding a creative attacker" Possibly an exchange of loans with Fabbrini, who cannot find much space here?
Fabbrini would hate it in Bolton. every day is literally a wet mon/tue/wed etc in Bolton and we know he can't hack them.
By creative I assume they mean someone who can play them slick reverse passes and can find the gap in defence for that killer through ball. Fabbrini barely averages one pass a game I bet. So hard to see that happening.
Jay Spearing?? http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/11724613._/ Sounds good to me. We have the ball players, good choice to win the ball, track back and do the ugly stuff.
Why would we want another Bolton reject that is on huge wages? Why would the Pozzos want to help out Bolton financially so that they could pick up Commons?
Just read the article linking him to us and at first I thought he'd be a decent signing but the fact he's struggling to get a game makes me think otherwise, wouldn't mind taking a punt on Commons ourselves actually.
There's nothing about the report that concerns me. I'm enthused that he won player of the year for them on loan and then suffered a loss of form after signing permanently. That never happens at Watford.
Feels like the kind of player we need. 6 month loan so not a huge risk. Should add some steel to the midfield when the fancy dans are peering at the rain from under the cover of the dugout!
While not the signing I was expecting.... In fairness to him he committed and not a bad player and at 26 he's plenty of experience. Lennon just wants to put his own stamp on things at Bolton.
He's a better player than Jonathan Hogg IMO. We've been crying out for someone like him, hopefully he'll improve here with better players around him.
Can't say I've seen too much of him. Will wait and see, sounds like he's a scrapper though which is what we need.
I wonder if Players have a checklist too? Stability? Manager with clear tactical vision? Previous Midfielder loans worked out? English Coach?
Could add some steel and some passion, but I'd prefer someone with a bit more of a presence about them, and somebody who could deal with the lofted balls into that position. I guess the problem is that we need homegrown players. Hopefully he will allow Abdi and thus Vydra to roam further forward though, which would be a huge positive.
He's short and plays centre mid so have to factor in at least 3 sendings off over the remainder of the season.
We haven't got a scouser in the team, so for that reason its a yes from me That will make 16 foreign nationalities I think?
Lost his way a bit this season and when Lennon arrived he dropped him. Since then Bolton's form has improved. He may need a fresh challenge and gives us something a little different in midfield http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/11726066.Jay_Spearing_leaving_Wanderers/ Not the most favourable comments
The comments sound exactly what we don't need (passing) 'too sideways and backwards' 'consistently gives the ball away'. Sounds a nightmare to be frank.
No point in breaking up play & winning the ball back if he's gonna pass the bl00dy thing straight back to them is there?
This is the player who Dalglish once quipped would keep Gerrard out of the team. Worked tirelessly for Liverpool when given the opportunity. Won motm accolades a few times. Bolton fans loved him before the weight of captaincy and 'building a team round him'. Has a point to prove. Still young (too young for captaincy). Tenacious and pugnacious. Quite possibly better than Hogg. Get him in on loan and let's see.

All he has to do is run at the opposition and kick lumps out of them Abdi will then do all the nice stuff
