The article is suggesting that Newcastle want £5m for Karl Darlow. But yeah, if we get Lewis on loan would hope that there's an option to buy.
It would actually be a fun game to keep us occupied during the window to award points to each person who is the original poster of a rumour that leads to a signing! And maybe a negative point for each one that turns out to be rubbish!
To be fair they paid £15m for him so quite a loss. I imagine we look to recoup something on our horrendous duds like Okoye/Kalu!
What could the prize be for the winner? A custom title perhaps? How about free access to login as any of Moog's alter-egos
Eye-catching going forward but a crap defender. Maybe better than what we've got, though, so if he's cheap it might be an OK deal. At £5 million, no.
If this goes through it’s an excellent move….if it doesn’t he’s terrible and we never wanted him anyway.
Can we nip this discussion of £5m in the bud, please. This was a case of Chinese Whispers. That was referring to Darlow. Nowhere has such a fee been cited for Lewis.
I wish. That’s the first piece of news I’ve had in weeks, looking like manga and pozzo been playing their cards closer to their chests. Or just doing absolutely nothing
If anything, Lewis fee will be higher than £5m. Signed for £15m, home grown, good age, fee inflation the last two years.
He’s their fourth? fifth? choice left back and has been unregistered at times. There’s no way they would be getting more than £5m although they are probably hoping that he performs well on loan and he can appreciate his value (a la Keinan Davis at Forest).
Already glad I registered this nice and early. Don’t want to be accused of jumping on a bandwagon when I declare him s*** after he’s actually played for us.
Watched the first half. He was playing as a left winger, and did fine. Nothing spectacular, wasn't overly involved, and mostly just kept it simple. Definitely not awful.
Well at least they probably won’t want to keep him which means we might get the bloke . Guess it’s all relative- there is a reason why Lewis hasn’t played in the PL much .
Agree to disagree. Look at the transfer fees we have dished out historically on utter garbage. They will easily get £5m+ back from someone given his profile, age and history.
If he's playing in a friendly for them, then I guess this cant be that far advanced yet other than our initial approach. Hope this doesnt go the same way as the Styles saga.
Yes, we won't have £5m to spare at the end of the season so can't see this progressing. If you look at what out total income is likely to be next season, this would be a huge chunk to have committed on one player, who may not even play well this season.
Unless it's based on promotion? Still not a fan of these types of deals in general, however, I think he could be worth the gamble, with £5m not ridiculous price for a Prem team.
