Who is good enough for the Prem?

    Demerit maybe
    smith maybe
    Mcanuff maybe
    sadler maybe

    apart from that we're stuffed

Sadly none are real Prem quality in long term but might be able to manage to perform above expectations like last time (Bouazza for example) and do well. Sadler was deemed not to be prem quality by brum but looks decent to me, perhaps with a lack of pace though. Shittu I am sure will do well against the likes of Heskey and so will DeMerit. Smith may be but again lacks the pace and is McAnuff's final ball good enough to be classed prem quality, according to most on here, no.

Last time in the Premier league one of our best players was Jordan Stewart!

To be honest, none of us know.

We only need to survive, and in reality we only need to beat teams in the bottom half of the table.

IMO, probably Poo2, Bromby and Demerit could probably do enough, Sadler is solid and looks to have potential, Mariappa is adequate, Muff and Smudger have their qualities, Ellington and John have shown that they can do it (whether we can get them to again is another matter), Hendo is big (which as Barnsley showed is sometimes all you need), Eustace may or may not be able to cope with the pace but looks manly enough doing it.

Oh and Lee is already England's No.1 :)

I don't think we need wholesale changes, just A LOT of streamlining (i.e sell the deadwood) and a couple quality signings, mainly in the Attacking Mid department and I think we would be OK.

I would say Stewart too, as he didn't look out of place.

Shame he's booed all the time and won't stay.

I agree with matimbers, Stewart coped better than most.

The whole team and manager would need to change their playing style...no hoofball to rely on and well we all know refs would give a foul against us everytime a long throw is taken!

None of them really. It'll be a case of take the money, build the new stand, put the club on a secure financial footing, overhaul the scouting system, then improve the squad with the remainder of next season's television money and the following season's parachute payment.

And you expect that all to be done in 2 months?

I think people have some skewed expectations on here sometimes.

We will be playing with the majority of the squad we have because it is not viable to change an entire playing squad in one pre season. Unless you are Portsmouth and have an endless pot of cash.

    We will be fine.

I believe most of us thought that last season...

How much yo-yoing do we want?

It's not really in our hands. And you can't deny that we've come down richer, with plans advancing to improve the stadium and a better squad overall.

We firstly need to see who goes up with us, if indeed we manage it. If one of the surprise packages goes up I'd chalk them up for 20th. That immediately gives the board a little more reason to splash the cash. But if, say, we go up with WBA and Charlton I'd guess we'd be everybody's favourites for last and the board would be silly to break the bank.

I think it's worth us going in for a few older experienced players in key positions. People who only have a season or two in them and were big names. I don't think we will get or even need wholesale changes and I fully expect us to go down straight away or maybe scrape a couple fo seasons. I reckon it'll take 5 years of steady improvement to get us to a solid mid table team.

I'd say none of them would fit in any team above the bottom 4 or 5 in the premiership. We may all think that Smithy has been consistant, but in the premiership he will simply be too slow and ineffectual.

I think Shittu could handle it. A few other players like Eustace could become premiership players. Overall, if we go up; I think we need a new Right Back, Centre Back, Winger, Attacking midfielder, Stikers.

Presumably until the job is done, but it'll take more than one more promotion.

What complete and utter carp ... the two other clubs promoted (Ex possibly WBA) will struggle just as much as us and then we'll ensure that we drag at least another couple down to our level.

Provided we go up automatically and Aidy spends wisely ???? I'm sure we'll make a decent fist of it provided that we try and play more football.
