It's a bit crap... Red button doesn't work until last minute before k.o. But today we didn't get first 2 minutes. Then no sound for 20 mins at start of second half.
Pedro a class above. Man against boys. TDB composed too. Should have had even more goals. Good signs. Another clean sheet. Croatia 2-1 up with seconds left. Bilic will be happy.
That as the weirdest game of "two halves" that I can remember!! First half sloppy and slow missed 2 sitters - second half classy, good tackling and looked great. Should have been 4-0 really....
Watched this and the WC parallelly on two tvs. First half was the same as it was in our previous match, second half was pretty good. What a player JP is!
So this was one of those times when our 'play like shyt and hope a Starboi pulls something off' tactic came up trumps. Good for us. Mostly this afternoon was a court exhibit for 'Talk's assessment that the division is astonishingly low quality, and also that we still strongly require reinforcements in January. TDB playing decently enough in the midfield is something you whisper only, given his injury record, but perhaps he could play some kind of role in the future, unlike the majority of our current crop. Oh yeah, and of course, thank the lord for JP - on to 8 goals for the season now. In the paraphrased words of the young Ebeneezer Scrooge as he appears in the infinitely superior prime televisual adaptation of the work, 'Sarr continues to be poor'.
Comfortable in the end but had to work hard to earn the win. Thought TDB did well and Freddie woke up after 30 minutes. Did Hogg always foul so much? I don't recall that. Does their keeper know he can catch the ball or has he developed a knee clearing technique? Can't see HT surviving. Hive kept cutting out. I think I shall ask for my £10 back. Good signs. COYH!
Well I can thank my Sky Box conking out for missing the entire game. I got updates via text but it's not the same. Spent half the afternoon on the phone to Tech Support, Anyway, glad we won and I heard the first goal was a great one. I'll have to watch the highlights this time I guess. Not bad results - bar Burnley continuing their steam train to promotion. Swansea's draw with Cov is a good one for us too. Hope Norwich lose tomorrow, would complete a satasfactory weekend result wise. To all who went and saw it on Sky, I hope you enjoyed it. Btw, it's working now - typical.
Huddersfield are crap but I guess we can't be too blasé about that win considering it was a really patched up squad! Good win, the aim in these next couple of games must be to just try to cling on to the coat tails of 2nd place before we can unleash Kone and Martins
That Burnley result might be good for us tbf, Burnley look like running away with the league, but that result keeps Boro that bit further behind us
We never looked in trouble and after 30 minutes there was only really one team that was going to win this. Great surging run from TDB to set up JP for the first and the way JP won the corner then got that wonderful header for the second was sublime. I think we should prepare ourselves for some serious bids for him in January. Overall a good win and no real drama.
Sounds like we pretty much dominated all game and eventually took our chances. Pedro as you might expect - let’s hope he isn’t going anywhere too soon !
My enduring main memory of Ivic was his grim expression as he posed with a 'manager of the month' award. He couldn't even crack a smile for the camera.
A very comfortable win. Should have been more and somebody could do with telling Davis he can pass. Bacons did ok, TDB looked better and we looked solid at the back. Nothing to complain about really but I’m sure somebody will!!
Yes we did enough in first half and completely outclassed them in the second. We've all moan a lot but we really do have a lot more class than most teams. OK the oppo often have plenty of possession knocking the ball about but rarely in our third. We seem to take a long time to warm into a game (mind you we usually play like "Brazil in the Arctic" when it's cold so nice to see us do the job oop North....
Great game from JP. Shame he missed that open goal in the first half but he more than made up for it later on! Bacuna was alright, certainly better than I was anticipating and should help keep us ticking over until January.
Sort of games you worry about. Up north in the freezing cold, with a bunch of fancy dans that Don't Care About The Club. Injury ravaged squad. Looked like being one of those days for the first 30 minutes, where basically nothing happened. For the rest of the game it was clear who the better team were, we created several decent chances and probably should have won 4/5-0. Bacuna was exactly what he was brought in to be - a passable Championship midfielder. But was also fat. Ngakia overall had a really solid game but still a couple of silly moments and got turned inside out by some Hudds nobody. TDB showed signs he could yet be the player we hoped he would be a couple years ago. Hopefully he's over the worst of his injury issues. Think it's probably time we collectively show a bit of respect to Cathcart, myself included. At this level, he's actually pretty bloody good. Annoying that Burnley keep chugging away but I'm sure they'll hit a sticky patch. We've just got to make sure we're within touching distance to them/SU when that happens.
Big shout for TDB, he looks like he's coming back to form, and if he can make more runs like he did for that goal he's on track....
Good goal this . Well played and nice strike . https://mobile.twitter.com/DNSYE_po...io/iframe/twitter.min.html1604149304213602304
Easiest game of the season. Played with our slippers on and still won comfortably. So wasteful up front, but that’s Watford all over. Of course with give the customary gift chance in the final minutes, but that was about as routine as you could possibly get. Huddersfield by far the worst team in the league and bottom position is where they are as a team this year,
First half was very uninspiring and seemed to be a continuation of our ‘can’t get out of neutral gear’ performance against Hull. The possession stats alone told a story. Much better in the second half. Ultimately in a tricky spell a win is a win and we have to just do what we can against Millwall and Swansea before reinforcements arrive. I can’t quite decide if Davis is rubbish because he’s overweight/overbuilt or if he’s rubbish because he’s rubbish. Centre back pairing did ok, though I despair at Kabasele’s atrocious attempts at a long ball. Pedro unsurprisingly looks better when he picks up the ball around the final third.
Watched the game with my annual after Christmas work gathering hangover, and initially found it hard to get the enthusiasm, but I was pleased with the result and the effort from most of the players. New guy was ok, TDB was very good, Pedro was excellent. Sarr was not as effective as he should be and Davis needs to work on his decision making. He should have had two assists today. Asprilla was very lively when he came on. Sema was Sema. Defence was fine. Hangover was eased by the result. We are still fighting for the 2nd automatic spot and if we can keep in touch while our players are coming back from injuries (or we recruit in Jan), then we are good shape.
Thought that was pretty enjoyable after a bang average first 30 mins. Obviously they're ***** but we created loads of chances.
Huddersfield manager thinks they dominated the first half - guess he means that period? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63925922
Comfortable win and comes at just the right time to get confidence rising. Huddersfield look doomed. We will hammer them when we play them at home.
