works bloody hard! gave the most effort today and throughout the whole season he hasn't let his lack of goals get him down! alot of players would of been beaten down by the pressure by now.....

Probably one of the 'better' players today I though!

Couldn't disagree more... Totally ineffective today (and most days IMHO)!!!

i just cannot see this 'working hard' thing that everyone talks about with him!!!

i always see him jogging after the ball or spinning around in a circle when the ball is coming down from a goal kick or long ball.

i do not think hes good enough for the prem to be honest

COMPLETELY disagree, how could he do anything today, on the rare ocassions where our awful long balls got anywhere near hendo there was nobody within 10 yards of him to flick it on to, and then everyone has a go at not holding it up!

he may not be premiership quality but he does work bloody hard!

i spose it depends on what you want from a player, but when you got our defence playing utte sh*t long balls to him it doesn't help, while hoskins gets lost on the other side of the pitch leaving hendo no option other to head the ball or try and hold it up

Hendo does work hard but it is difficult when you have crap players around you and our football is so predictable.

Don't blame Hendo - blame the system that Aidy tries to play.

    Hoskins was worse.

Agreed chewy. How the hell did he not get subbed at half time and why dis Bouazza get taken off?

Aidy is on another planet at the moment.

when it was played to his feet he mis controlled it or missed it completely!!
i believe he will be good in a few years but the step up from league 1 for a young lad is too big

From where i was sitting Hendo had a good game one of the few who could hold thier head up a the end of that game.

hendersons a dodgy person to start slating he does work hard he defends aainst set pieces and wins headers and flicks. most the time he loses it straight away because everyone around him doesnt do anything. the lack of goals would make most strikers break down and cry. dont slate him if someone would come in close so he has someone to aim for we would win most headers

well it seems you have all touched on partial truths.

Hendo is crap - he's slow and not exactly a goal getter BUT he does always work hard and as the season has progressed I think that a few players have started to not bother so much anymore. He's not helped by the fact that the we don't have any other forwards available with any sense of skill to feed off him (Great transfer activity Aidy!!)
That said it is also true that Aidy's tactics this season mystify me a little - we got through the championship playing a different kind of football to this season so why not continue that style - Reading and Sheff Utd haven't played particularly different to last season and are looking far more comfy than us! I was at the Man Utd game and we just stuck 11 players behind the ball - what's the damn point in that?? Hendo on his own up front?? That's never gonna work.

I get the impression Aidy has already resigned himself to the drop and is trying to find which players will fit into his side next season - can't say Hoskins or Kabba look worthwhile!!

Forwards are most effective in PAIRS. About no more than 15yds apart. Hendo is put up on his own. Why Hoskins was told to move as far away from Darius as possible, only the bench know.

Hendo is ace but let down by not having a true partner.

Likewise a five man midfield will fail if nobody from the five bomb on into attack and support Hendo too.

    And they aren't.

I do not mind if we get thrashed giving it a go but we seem scared to bloody well attack. I.E. Old Trafford, Liverpool at home, today and even Blackburn.

Plenty of Players are worthy of stick at the moment but Henderson should not be one of them.

In the last half a dozen games he has been one of our best players and at least gives us a little something up Front. Without him the ball wouldn't stick at all!

....As for effort, he can never be faulted and that goes a long way in comparison to the way some of boys are playing!!

Hendo is doing all he can, and I think he's doing it quite well too. The problem is that he can't work alone. He's no Thierry Henry or Michael Owen for god's sake. We need to pair him up with a pacey goal machine (i.e. Marlon King). We also have to keep the ball a little, in order to lift the team higher up the pitch so we can get midfielders running into the areas that surround him and we need to get more angle on our long balls and crosses. Just hoofing them straight up to Hendo from the center backs is a Mission Impossible!

I agree that letting him play lone striker against United, with no midfielders helping him in attack, was plain stupid. Would be better to have Bouazza alone up front then, who can do things on his own.
