On GH's smeone has said he has put in a transfer request and someone else said hes off to West Ham for 3 million rising to 5 million
We must be mad to allow Marlon to go for £3mil - £5mil, Far better sell Ellington, Priskin, Kabba or Hoskins (or ALL of them for that matter) than to lose MK.
I heard today that he is off to Villa, and to see him joking and laughing during his half time warm up, kind of confirmed that for me.
I can understand your frustration but he is neither arragont or ungrateful. He's been fantastic for us over the prevvious 3 years and I for one will never slag him off nor will criticise him when he finally leaves. His recent performances have been below-par but I would say that this has been the only time he has played like that since he's been here. He deserves to be playing in the Premiership and he isn't going to get there with us in all probability this season. It would be wrong to prevent him from going.
The way his been playing lately we won't even sell him, what club will want a striker that is playing like he is at the moment? If King wants to stay or go he needs to play the way he can.
If he is to go, I hope he has handed in a transfer request, otherwise if we do sell him, he will be due a large part of the transfer fee as payment of contract.
3-5m would be saying he is worth the same as Ellington. He is a far better player than he, so I would expect well over 5m as we also do not need to sell. Don't forget that we are still in a sellers market, if he goes for less than 7m then we should sack the board.
Not more than Young (bearing in mind that we will land all of the add ons and the fee will finish at 9.5m) The transfer market has inflated further since the Young Transfer, but he was bought on the basis of potential as much as he was for now. King is more of a finished product. Although we did not need to sell Young, we were in a situation where he could not help us, and we had to let him go. With King I think we are in a situation where he is critical (when he is not being lazy like at the moment) in our ambitions, and as a result any buyers would have to pay a premium to allow for that. Realsistically I would expect about 7-8m for him, and any less would mean we have taken a fee that means we cannot replace him easily.
He certainly shouldn't go for any less than 7-8 million, if he does then it would be the biggest travesty since the fee Robbo went for. If he's going to continue looking uninterested during games and wants out then there's little point in keeping him in my view.
If Marlon leaves in January that'll be the final straw for me, and as far as I'm concerned all of this 'oh Marlon doesn't want to be here, he's said he wants to go' bla bla bla is a load of old s**t and I wont believe it just from hearing it from the usual c*cks who think they have 'insider knowledge', but are actually talking absolute b*llocks as per usual. Also, to those who say he doesn't give a f**k etc. 1. Remember what he's done for this club until as recently as a few weeks ago and 2. No one notice him sprint all the way back from pretty much QPR's box and win the ball back for the team in ours? We should be getting rid of the uselss c**ts like Stewart and Kabba etc. in January, not our best f**king player, especially if it's for a ridiculously low fee like £3m.
I thought King did ok today. There was a passage of play when QPR had possession and we seemed to be just giving them the space to pass the ball. Back tracks King and does what others should have done, putting his foot in and winning the ball back. Moments like that and the geeing up of his team mates at half time during the Colchester away game make me think that he can be bothered. It must be difficult to keep your head up with some of our recent performances and at times one dimensional tactics. If he is off in January I'll be sad to see the back of him and will have good memories of what he has helped our club achieve.
That's rubbish look at West Brom with all their players, why we cant be like that with ours I dont know.
Do not blame him for wanting to go! If Aidy keeps us playing the way we are, I might put in a transfer request myself.
pissed me off when people were calling for king to come on today, his attitude has been a f*****g disgrace recently where he's been on the pitch and not given a sh*t. Also when king and ellington play people call for henderson and when henderson and king play everyone calls for ellington!£5mil, happy days.
the moaners will moan about any team selection even when we win. the guy behind me is like that. he hated henderson till the southampton game when he came on as sub. slated him awful............... till the end of the game :xmascheesy:
Sorry but I can't agree with that comment. He is our most creative player and the other players rely too much on him imo. We create nothing for our strikers so they are forced to do all the work themselves constantly running after balls most strikers would just watch before screaming abuse about the distribution. As a result it looks like they all do nothing/are having poor games when they don't do anything. King chases, runs the channels and is our best striker. We need to keep him, none of our other strikers can fill his boots as was proved yesterday. Us as fans, need to take a hard long look at ourselves because it's been a similar story with other past players. Some wanted C.C out they got their wish and our defence now lacks depth, some thought we could cope without Young (me included because i thought he was inconsistent and overrated) but in reality we lost King's creative partner. However I don't think anyone wanted Spring to go and imo he's walk into the current midfield. If we lose King the 06/07 team really will be better than this current squad
They've probably taken that from The Sunday People who said Hodgson is being given £15M in Jan and King is his 1st target.
30 December 2007 FULHAM MOVE FIT FOR A KING By Dave Kidd Roy Hodgson is ready to make Watford striker Marlon King his first signing as Fulham boss. Hodgson's predecessor Lawrie Sanchez had lined up a £4million move for King and the new Craven Cottage chief will give it the go-ahead. Fulham chairman Mohamed Al Fayed has promised his new manager £15m to spend in January, despite a £26m summer investment which failed to lift the club's fortunes. Fayed is determined not to allow Fulham to slip out of the Premier League and will continue to throw money at the team. Watford hitman King, 27, has netted 10 times this season after missing most of his club's Premiership campaign through injury last term. Fulham are desperate to bolster their strike force after Sanchez's summer signings, Diomansy Kamara and David Healy, failed to shine.
Can't see him going to Fulham , especially where they are currently placed in the league . Will he want to risk going down with them and us going in the other direction. If he goes anywhere it will probably be villa.
