useless this is the second time ive had a moan at him but today he had 3 minutes of good play but the other 87 he may as well not have been on the pitch
He's been immense this season yet 1 poor game (shared with several other notable players) and suddenly all his detractors crawl out of the woodwork. Give it up!
I think he is suffering a big confidence thing. Gav is not a premiership player and he has seen us buy a lot of midfielders who are skillfull. Could be his time is nearly up. I think the new lad from Leicester Williams will in time take over and signal a more passing game. I think Gav has been great for us in the championship but will move on.
if i'm being totally honest he was the root cause of our problems today, we needed to keep the ball down and pass it, esp once they were down to ten men-instead he hoofed it. i'll never doubt his heart, i think he's a great leader, but he needs to get the ball down and play once in a while..
The 2 wingers were not bad but Francis and Mahon did have a real off day apart from Damien scoring the winner (he could not miss really?) I hope Williams and Williamson take their chance and show some good quality unlike their efforts against Bolton which was another poor performance.
Gavin Mahon - Ipswich Shocking performance by the captain. a lot more fans shouting for the captain to be dropped. I now hear BOOs around the ground! The bloke just simply runs alongside the other player like some annoying fly.
I have a good idea... Try checking there are not any threads on the same subject. Unless you want the attention?
http://www.wfcforums.com/showthread.php?t=8261 80% of your posts to date have been Mahon related - do you need help northofwatford?
you could make a dance called the mahon and just point everywhere, thats what it looks like gav is trying to do.
he was very poor today and so was his partner francis (thank god he scored though) however we cant forget mahon has put in a lot of good performances and normally is the one player who always tries his hardest. with the new midfielders coming in i agree that in the next year he will find himself slowely moving out of the starting 11
To be fair UEA, Mahon could have been Man of the Match in every single game this season but you would have forgotten that completely if you had seen him today, he was that poor. And not just poor but he seemed to get in the way of other players too.
Agreed. There was worse than Mahon out there today. FACT. He had a bad day at the office today and so people jump down his throats, yeah he wasn't that great and didn't seem to get a grip of midfield like he perhaps should but he had a few good points. ie. A good switch of play out to Smith, that was a good pass. One bad game, thats it. Get over yourselves.
Mahon was not good at all - and i like the guy. If I use him as a benchmark there were others better and worse. So here goes: Better: Mariappa, Shittu, Demerit, Smith, Cavalli, Henderson, Bouazza (sub) Worse: Lee, Powell, Francis, Kabba ( about the same)
how can you say kabba had a bad day hes was a lot better than smith. powell had a good game dodgy crossing but a brick at the back francis did a lot of running but at time inifectual
Who said anything about 3 good passes ? I gave an example of one good piece of play from him. Agree with your assesment of those who are better and worse Berko, however i dont' see people starting a thread about them. Ok, except the flick to Smith what did Kabba do ?? Seemed afraid to put himself about and with him upfront you really can appreciate how much hard work Hendo does.
The same one as you, except you were mainly watching Mahon so you could start this thread. Kabba did a nice flick on and alot of running, thats all. As i said for someone of his size he didn't put himself about enough for my liking.
cj You are entitled to your view but Kabba did not keep possession, gave the ball away too easily, his movement was non-existent. He had one bit of real quality when he released Tommy for the goal. That's it. I am not knocking the guy - he played well against West Ham and is still not fully match fit - but today he was not good. In fact Priskin showed more in 5 minutes than Kabba the rest of the game.
And therein lies the main problem with Kabba. Miles and miles short of match fitness. Hopefully this 90 minutes will go a long way to helping him build it up. Of course, it's no excuse for playing crap.
Mahon get scared ?? sorry but despite you obvious dislike for Mahon you can't say that. He put in several decent challenges today and was frequently challenging in the air.
Now you're just making no sense. Chewitt was making the point that although it may be valid to criticise Mahon you have to accept that other players were poor too. Yet you seem to be saying that because Kabba gave the ball away less than Mahon he didn't have a bad game? You're so obsessed with Mahon you're missing the bigger picture.
