Nowhere near enough boob in episode 1. Disappointing.

 

I have never watched it but I understand it to be some kind of adult themed soap opera, is that correct?

 

Agreed although I'm proud of the fact that I stopped watching Star Wars in the 80s and the last Marvel film I saw had Lou Ferrigno in it.

 

I was watching on my phone, but it looked to me like Bronn was deliberately shagging very mediocre brasses, perhaps to appease body positive feminazis

 

Ooooerrr! Just watched the 2am screening of episode two, it's getting very exciting

 

Knew that cliffhanger was coming. I can't wait a weekkkkkkkkkkk

 

Easily the best thing on the box. Each episode is like a film

 

Not sure how I feel about the Arya sideboob as I don't think she's attractive but a sideboob is a sideboob.

 

Next week apparently is the longest battle scene ever filmed, the previous record was Lord of the Rings Return of the King

 

I felt uncomfortably close to being a pedo. I mean, obviously I logically *know* the actress is in her 20s, but Maisie Williams/Arya is kind of permanently stuck at her S1 age when I was an adult and most definitely wasn't.

It just felt somehow very wrong.

Either way, brilliant episode. I predicted the ending based on the tiles in the opening credits, so props to the the techs making the opening credits. The feeling of existential dread was palpable, and seeing how each character coped with it was compelling watching.

Best scene of the episode was

Brienne getting knighted. She absolutely nailed the conflicting emotions and it completes her character arc perfectly.

Next week is going to be a barnstormer, and likely to be the most visually spectacular piece of television in history. I'm expecting Helm's Deep on steroids and a massive body count.

My one criticism of their battle plan so far:

you're facing an army of the dead lead by an opponent who you have seen raise the dead in person (Hardhome), and your plan is to protect the women and children by sealing them into the crypt containing generations of dead Starks? It's practically a given what will happen next, especially considering Tyrion will be in here and the burned-face child with the clear resemblance to Princess Shireen also being explicitly identified as an occupant. I expect her to bravely defend the others as "charged" by Gilly and Davos and to be killed mercilessly for her trouble.

 

It would be peak GoT for the whole next episode to be focused on Kings Landing delaying us seeing the battle!

 

80 minutes of Cersei monologues.

There would be riots in the streets.

 

After reading the spoilers I can't bl**dy wait to watch it now.

 

Enjoyed episode 2 immensely. Building up nicely.

 

It had Sean Bean in it, then he got his head chopped off. There are lots of realms, and one is called Kings Langley.

A guy shags his sister then pushes a kid out of the window for spying on them. That sort of thing is quite normal.

The cast has a small percentage of making it through to season 8, if they are a main character, but if not, forget it, they'll be dead within two episodes.

There's a fit blonde.....not sure she's wife material though, as she gave birth to dragons.

There's a Mr Snow, who lives in snow.....wow.....what's the chances of that? Anyway, he stands on a big ice wall protecting all the other realms from dead people who want to make everyone else dead people.

There's a guy with no balls, and another with no **** and another with no hand. So you see, if you don't get killed, then you're almost certainly going to lose a body part long the way.

In one scene the Queen walks naked along Kings Langley high street. I must have been out of the country when they filmed that......gutted.

She's protected by a giant dead guard, who was put back together after being killed in a duel and is now decaying behind his armour, but is still pretty strong.

The fit blonde is now a Queen and her dragons have all grown up, but one died and became a living dead dragon. She still has another two though, so not all bad.

I think that should bring you up to speed.

 

Episode 2 was fantastic at building the tension, except for the fact that we have to wait a week. What a nightmare.

Fantastic quality TV.

Why should it matter if something is a serial?

Sure, there are plenty of sequels which are made exclusively to make money, but they are quite easy to spot.

As a general rule, decent quality series will follow a 1 book: 1 film/ series ratio (otherwise only the final installment is likely to be worth watching), and should have been designed originally to be part of a sequel i.e. written to both be stand-alone, but for the story arc to continue through multiple films/ books/ series).

If you always act like you're too good for shows which develop a huge following, then you're likely to miss out on some of the best shows.

I've never seen GoT amd now I don't have to after reading this masterly summary. So I can continue to spend my life doing something more rewarding such as reading everything posted on here

I feel exhausted after watching that!

 

Much like the rebirth of Holebas this season I was never expecting that ending either.

What an episode, how do they top it???

 

Fantastic episode. My only gripe was it was too dark, so I couldn't really tell what was going on.

 

I’m not sure I took a breath throughout the last 20 mins of that episode. My heart was literally in my mouth the entire time.

Just watched episode 3. That was the best ever. Clearly it's going to switch to the naked Queen of Kings Langley, and that nasty bloke in the boat who wants to shag her.

But...….that was an amazing episode. I doubt they will top it.....would have been a good finale.

Spoiler: The ones who died

Cockless, bad skin guy from Resident Evil, bloke from Fortitude who died 45 times previously actually died this time for real, witch died but that was suicide, I think maybe another dragon died.....and the glass zombie leader was smashed into pieces, which luckily killed all the other zombies. I think all other main characters survived
