There is a feature on using a video ref which looks at the Charlton game, apparently Watford should have had a penalty for a foul on Tamas Priskin...

I dont remember that one, but makes you wonder where we would be in the league if they did have video playback for decisions like that, e.g Everton

There was a thread on here a while back about a website that evaluates controversial decisions in the prem and it works out the table with the potential extra points that are gained from correcting the decision.

If there's a decision corrected for both teams then they call it quits and neither side gains anything. If i remember correctly we've had a few in our favour that could have cost us and in the end with their reasoned method we would still be in the bottom 3 but about 2 or 3 points better off.

I'll do a search on here and see if i can find the link for you.

EDIT: Reindeer horn - http://uneedspecsref.co.uk/ - Thats the link for the website mentioned above.

Or how many penalties would Jay have given away? I can see Big Sam or Fergie crowding round the 4th official trying to get him to look at the video and change a decision each time one is given. Goalline technology such as Hawkeye would be a good idea but anthing else, in my opinion no. I still think, Everton penalty apart, it evens itself out over the season.

We all moaned about the ref on Saturday but think back a few weeks to the ipswich game, and we had it in our favour.

It's where he had that overhead kick, Garth Crooks says it is a penalty but no one appealed for it

Ah. And therein lies the problem. Garth Crooks. Possibly the biggest mug on sports television ever.

Yeah true it probably would even itself out.

If the offical doing the video decsion was tucked away in room somewhere then they wouldn't be influenced by Fergie et al. It makes sense to me use available technolgy to get decisions right.

Some of his racism claims are ludicrous, such as where he said all black managers are victimised and not given the same oppertunities as white ones, but overall he's an OK pundit

Thing is, in rugby they don't use the video ref to make subjective decisions. The same situation is in tennis and cricket. The only decisions sent to the video ref/hawkeye are those relating to fact: is it or isn't it try / is the ball in or out / has he been run out? Shoddy journalism from Crooks if he every thinks penalty decisions will be scrutinised on video.

the table is wrong, we should have had 3 points at spurs and a point at everton and many more but only says 2 more points!

Did you actually read the way they work it out, chances are those incidents got cancelled out by one where we got away with it such as the penalty Charlton should have had at the valley when Bouazza dragged his man to the floor.
